Tried to find a short circuit that is frying my 15A fuse for taillight illuminator. Couldn't find it yet. My speedometer won't light up anymore either. I don't want to get a ticket for it, and I've already been let off once with a warning. So for now, my L Series is stuck at home, dash mostly disas...

The supra had either a 1JZ or 2JZ inline 6 engine, not sure how well one would fit in a brumby without moving the firewall back!!

If they have overcharged the system it is possible too much liquid refrigerant is getting to the compressor causing it to hydraulic, causing your belt to slip. The over pressure in the system might be then causing the pressure sensor cut the compressor out. Just a guess :)

Ended up respraying the blackouts on the bullbar, gave it a cut and polish and rejuvenated the tonneau cover. Just need to respray the rims and...

Before you start your car next, pump the brake pedal a couple of times until it goes hard, then whilst holding down the pedal, start the car. If the pedal sinks the booster is ok, if not you have an issue!

The flasher unit requires a certain amount of electrical load to flash at the correct speed. If LED replacement lights are fitted you can just fit resisters in each circuit to simulate a normal globe.

So the original units have done 330k, and you think it's too pricey to replace them with genuine parts??

[quote="nachaluva"]So why is it called "positive" switching when the switching is actually on the NEGATIVE side?

I don't think I have ever heard someone call a negatively switched circuit a positively switched circuit. Maybe someone somewhere got confused?

Negative switching is where the lights get a constant 12v feed, with the earth side being switched on and off to complete the circuit. The current Toyota Hilux has the same setup.

My kinchrome ratchet spanners have done some work and copped some abuse. Using a standard 19mm open ender on the 17mm ratchet ring spanner for extra leverage and not one slip or breakage. If they can put up with 6+ years of abuse by a mechanic, home use will last a lifetime.

A reverse flush system won't really work if you plan on running the engine. We use a flush system at work where a 20L drum with a hose with a tapered rubber outlet which sits in where the radiator cap goes, a bung for the top inlet on the radiator and then another tapered rubber outlet on a hose for...

I wash everything with a pressure cleaner - except the 4.5L petrol cruisers, every time I have I've spent the next 30 minutes pulling leads and blowing out water from the plug tubes!
But seriously, use some common sense. If you have a cleaner with bulk pressure, take a step or two back!

Have you got a tow bar fitted? I have seen many electrical issues arise from shorts in trailer sockets.

I bought a set of impact sockets from supercheap a fair while ago, came with 3/8 deep sockets (metric and af) and short 1/2 drive. Been hammered on the end of my rattle gun (ingersol rand, 600ftlbs!!) and the only thing I broke was the 1/2" to 3/8" adapter. Being single hex the socket won't round of...

Well now I can see the pics I can say I haven't seen one of those before! Mind you, I mainly deal with Toyota AC systems with a few different makes thrown in to keep things interesting. I'm now sure how long the original EJ hoses are but if you could get some that are long enough you would only need...

Without being able to see the pics (for some reason they aren't showing on my phone in Bali!) this "muffler" your talking about would surely have to be the reciever drier. Some vehicles have this incorporated into the condenser, but most of them are in the high pressure line between the condenser an...

If you have the TX valve in your hands it will be easier to match one up. I would be re evaluating your diagnosis of the valve though. Typically a TX valve will either fail in the closed position (showing an extremely low pressure or vacuum on the low side) or fail open, which will allow liquid refr...
