Hi there. Been watching. Any update? How was your trip? Time for an update. The trip to Brisbane was brilliant and on the trip back I filled up near Rochdale and again at Wahroonga just off the freeway, took just over 57L so pretty happy with that. Also did a trip to the Barossa and back with the c...

Did someone say yeehaa! That looked like so much fun. Was it someone's private track? I've never done a hillclimb but if I ever have a car worthy again I certainly will. There's something bout going hard uphill that gets the adrenalin going yet feels safe, whereas going downhill my testic...

A bit like this then http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-OeRjb76O9s&list=UUAxswv4R0ErG7m9Gghrnr0w&index=1&feature=plcp The link worked for me at work using IE and at home using Firefox so not sure what the issue is, here is the U...

You can slap me, I can't see the number plate on it only a sticker on the side saying 057. By the way, nice car, was it from a kit or did you buy it? Cheers Cam Thanks for the interest guys. The car is a scratch build with quite a mixture of bits, TX Gemini front end and column, escort rack, Coroll...

RESULTS ARE IN! The problem was that the 'Oil Dilution' was at 10% (according to the ECU) The solution was to reset the Oil Dilution with the dealers plugin tool. What we dont know is the exact cause of why the ECU thought that the Oil was over-diluted. But there are a few potential reasons. 1. (mo...

Have a look at KBS or POR-15 products they are very similar with KBS being the Oz product. They have a good rust converter and both have paint the is formulated specifically to go over rusted surfaces and prevent further problems, links to both below. http://www.kbs-coatings.com.au/ http://ppcco.com...

Mine has been running fine since the previous service at about 22,000. Had it serviced Tuesday last week and drove to Adelaide to back towing a car and it didn't miss a beat, admittedly a bit thirsty at 11.2/100. All up weight of trailer and Nemo was ~ 950 Kg. No prisioners were taken as we sat bang...

Engineering in NSW is not what it used to be but it is a long way from impossible. VSB14-v2 ( National Code of Practice ) is being introduced in conjunction with the VSCCS scheme. Basically a large number of the engineers from the previous scheme have given the game away, some of the old have remain...

Sworn to secrecy on what, however progress is being made resolving the shudder. Can't say any more. I've done around 3000Km since the glowplugs and fuses were replaced and have experienced no problems yet. Don't know that they did anything other than the repair because I asked and they said FHI wer...

Well, did the trip from Sydney to Brisbane yesterday and it went like a train, the consumption on the trip was 6.0 / 100 until I hit the road work between Warwick and Brisbane where it went to 6.2 and now running around the city it has ballooned out to 6.4:mrgreen: I pushed it pretty hard which piss...

An update, yeah been thinking about doing one. I had the glowplugs fitted and fuse replaced 2 weeks ago and no further problems ( at this stage ). In reality I suspect that the problem has more than a bit to do with the way we drive these cars, as in we expect them to drive like a diesel truck and s...

Well the parts have finally arrived and the car is in to have the replacement glowplugs and fuse fitted plus the 25K service, it will be interesting to see what difference it makes if any. On Monday I towed the race car to Goulburn and back without any issues apart from the consumption going from 6....

We are getting off topic, but I can't see how a glowplug fault causes this shudder. If they do have glowplugs, they would be off within the first minute after a cold start. Maybe the dealer means some other part (injectors or ecu). My reply from Subaru Oz is that the reason my ECS / ABS fuse hasn't...

OK, latest update. The glowplugs have been held up by the devastation in Japan and the reason that the ABS / ECS fuse hasn't been replaced is because the glowplugs are shorted. Bits due to arrive in Oz on 30/5, the day I will be towing around 750 Kg down to Goulburn. So we have what in reality is a ...
