****FREE***** 4.44 rear diff from GEN3 OBK

Trying to purge my shed of subaru stuff since i've long sold my outback.
I have the old 4.44 rerar diff, has been sitting in the shed for at least a year now, worked fine when removed at about 250,000k's.
Free for pickup from Newcastle.
PM me.
cheers

fair point, any ej conversion will need an engineers report. I've had to get the last 3 cars i've owned engineered, its really not a huge hassle, just make sure its not too loud and you retain all the pollution stuff, and make sure the brakes are in tip top condition. As for insurance, my old 350hp ...

i know you guys are way more pro then me, but it just seems like a EJ 2.2 conversion sounds like wayyyyy moreee money then what i plan to do ? like the loom, the gearbox, upgrade the brakes, get a ej 22 to start with, new exhaust, chop n change, and yeah just seems like itll go into the $1564524y64...

I would have to agree with Toonga, an EJ 2.2 or 2.5 conversion would almost certainly result in more power and torque for a similar(ish) cost, and retaining the factory efi system would be a huge advantage also. If you don't want to go the conversion route, it sounds like you already know what you n...

very impressive! Shame though, stuff like this can be really demorilising if u've spent a lot of time and effort on the car.
I remember smashing a piston on my old car 3 weeks after completely rebuilding the engine, i almost cried and very nearly gave up on modified cars altogether.

I knew it was buggered cos I snapped it in half lifting the new engine into place. I'm not sure of the best way to you could test the sensor in your car. If you can hook a multimeter into the signal wire without disconnecting the sensor, you should see the voltage flicking back and forth between 0.1...

So there are no bolts holding your exhaust together at the joints or the manifold to the block? must be those magic sticky gaskets  yeah ok, fair point. Anyway, the oxy sensor I ordered arrived today, as expected the sensor itself is identical, just a different connector on the end of the...

L series sheared cam wheel off

My sister has been driving around in an old L series for the last year or so, the other day she called up to say it had broken down. We went to have a look at it, checked the basics like fuel and spark which all checked out ok. Then did a compression test and found no compression on either cylinder ...

managed to fix both the indicators and the heater/air con blower fan all in one hit today. Started pulling the dash off, but didn't need to go to far, cos i discovered that the hazard switch wasn't plugged in, and there was another connector for the heater box unplugged. Duh... In my rush to get the...

thanks for that. My problem is that I don't have a VDC box, and i did see any spare plugs for it either when i had the entire loom out. Anyway, I think i've solved the problem. I've taken the power indicator globe out of the dash! haha. - the gearbox is functioning perfectly well, and until i can un...

I don't think they are earthed through the exhaust system, but I could be wrong. The exhaust on my car at least doesn't actually have a solid metal connection to anywhere on the engine/body... its all seperated by gaskets and rubber hangers. So the oxy sensor would definatetly need a separate earth ...

generic bosch oxy sensor

I need to replace the oxy sensor on the ej20tt motor in my outback, a genuine subaru one will cost about $450, which is nuts. Is there any reason I can't just get a $50 generic bosch narrowband sensor and splice it in? The factory one is a 3 wire one, which should be heater, ground and signal. I fig...

are u using good quality jumpers? Do the leads get warm or hot quickly? I've had similar problems using el'cheapo jumpers. U could just put the battery on a charger overnight, that should sort it out. Also, measure the battery voltage while cranking at both the battery and main terminal of the start...

after a bit more research, it looks like the lateral g sensor is part of the VDC system, which my car doesn't have... If i could find which pin of the tcu connectors should be connected to the sensor, i could probably fudge a voltage to keep the system happy, but i can't find a wiring diagram that s...
