I feel all your pain guys! But I'm very thankful i've managed to get out of my situation. I had spoken to Subaru Australia, the service center and they both informed me it was my driving habits that cause quicker oil dilution. So I took it up with my dealer over the fact I did not feel they had prop...

Snapshot 3: after couple minutes additional idling, I got -0.007898 % oil dilution ratio vs. state 2, ECU did estimate some evaporation already. By the way, in compulsory DPF regen mode, ECU first revs 2700 rpm, couple minutes later 2600 till completion, back to standard 800. Seems like these rpms ...

There's no dilution sensor on Euro4, as with many things the ECU has to estimate. Maybe ECU software/data has flaws that unveil especially in Australia's conditions... As I've stated in another thread, do request your ECU software version, it's only a couple of clicks for the mechanic once the diag...

Oh any by the way, I absolutely flog the car more than everyone. Every gear shift from 1st-3rd is above 3k revs and then I mostly cruise in 4th around suburbs or 5th if I hit a 100km/h. I'm a very spirited driver who would love to get the car tuned to allow it to perform even more. Whether these oil...

Good info from everyone, so thanks for all chipping in your thoughts. If anything it makes me feel better knowing I have a support network on these issues. In regards to a couple of points: The foreman who plugged in the computer showed me all the data on the screen. The comp said DPF regenerations:...

Update on my Diesel forester situation Well I took it down to Subaru service department today. They plugged the computer in, ...

Ok, so I have been driving with the flashing DPF light for a day, and suddendly on the way home after having had a serious conversation with Subaru about the problem, the light just went out? So now i've had a solid DPF light which lasted a km and then went out. And now i've had a flashing DPF light...

Ok, today the DPF light came on flashing for me, straight off the bat. From what I've read elsewhere this means there is a oil dilution issue. I.e its just become greater than 10%. I have driven 3100km in 56 days since buying the car. Thats avg of 55km a day and equates to 20000km a year, which I co...

My DPF light came in flashing today after 3000km's in 57 days of driving. That represents oil dilution issues yes? I guess I will have to phone my dealer tomorrow. What should I be expecting as an outcome. There is no way I'm paying for anything after just buying a brand new car and having issues li...

Hi guys, I have 3000kms on my clock now. Build date June 2010. Bought it in February 2011. I do very short trips to work each day. 8km's each way. I have always had a lead foot, and so have always reved the car extremly hard. I have noticed the car does regens ALL the time. Its very rare for me to e...

Hi there, I have noticed that my car attempts regens very regularly. At least once every two days until it gets a decent run and finish's up. Then it'll stay good for a week or two and start doing them again. Admittedly i'm doing 8km trips to work each day which takes no longer than 7-8 minutes. I d...
