When you disengage, either stab the throttle or brake while moving the 4wd lever and it should pop out.

Engaging out of 4WD CLUNK
Recently bought '90 L Series Touring wagon (my 1st). Engaging 4WD is fine - and it seems all normal/no probs (haven't taken it 'proper' off-road yet - just tested it on sandy grassy patch etc). But cannot engage out of 4WD. So when I get back on sealed road it drives for a bit, then CLUNK - out of 4...

Rear right wheel grinding/shudder/squeak
1990 L Series touring wagon Happens mostly notably at low speed or when turning (esp turning left - i think). The wheel is kind of loose also (which would explain the shudder at times). I've taken off the disk(?) and have tightened the main nut and it's better - although haven't had time to take it ...

That's good news! Just called a local panel beater/'rust guy'... yep, turns out it won't be that expensive. He can make custom made bits if need be. As for the rear creaking noise though -when truning or over bumps-... Probably struts? Bushings? These things not too expensive to get done though righ...
