When you disengage, either stab the throttle or brake while moving the 4wd lever and it should pop out.
Cheers Suparoo... I'll try this too.

Becuase I couldn't get it to disengage, I didn't have a choice... had to go onto the sealed road! It's not a pleasant sounding clunk eh...

Engaging out of 4WD CLUNK

Recently bought '90 L Series Touring wagon (my 1st). Engaging 4WD is fine - and it seems all normal/no probs (haven't taken it 'proper' off-road yet - just tested it on sandy grassy patch etc). I've taken off the disk(?) and have tightened the main nut and it's better - although haven't had time to take it ...

That's good news! Just called a local panel beater/'rust guy'... yep, turns out it won't be that expensive. He can make custom made bits if need be. As for the rear creaking noise though -when truning or over bumps-... Probably struts? Bushings? These things not too expensive to get done though righ...

Front wind screen rust

Has any one any experience with quite bad front windscreen rust? Just found a Subie wagon for sale in great condition except for some pretty bad windscreen rust - has rusted through to the inside right around the whole windscreen 'frame' (for lack of a better word). Seller says it doesn't leak. My ...
