When you disengage, either stab the throttle or brake while moving the 4wd lever and it should pop out.

Becuase I couldn't get it to disengage, I didn't have a choice... had to go onto the sealed road! It's not a pleasant sounding clunk eh...

1990 L Series touring wagon Happens mostly notably at low speed or when turning (esp turning left - i think). The wheel is kind of loose also (which would explain the shudder at times). I've taken off the disk(?) and have tightened the main nut and it's better - although haven't had time to take it ...

That's good news! Just called a local panel beater/'rust guy'... yep, turns out it won't be that expensive. He can make custom made bits if need be. As for the rear creaking noise though -when truning or over bumps-... Probably struts? Bushings? These things not too expensive to get done though righ...

Has any one any experience with quite bad front windscreen rust? Just found a Subie wagon for sale in great condition except for some pretty bad windscreen rust - has rusted through to the inside right around the whole windscreen 'frame' (for lack of a better word).
