Well that could be very handy. I havnt had a chance to have a look yet - does a standard spare fit behind the wheel arch on top of the jack storage box? If it does that would be perfect.
Cheers

nahh its not an RX, theres only a small heatshield between the turbo and the trans. Might just try and fabricate a bracket to stand it up in the back of the wagon. Thanks for the advice

Yeah I thought that might be the case. Would it be worth having a go at making some kind of heat shield with a sheet of aluminium or something? Its for my wagon so i can always just throw it in the back, but it will be annoying eh.

EA82T spare tyre

Cars with the EA82T came with a space saver from the factory didnt they? Was this so there was more space between the turbo and the tyre? will I have any issues if i put a normal spare under my bonnet? ie will it get too hot? what do you other fellas do?

Cheers.

I find the pirelli p400s hard to beat, I wouldnt call them an 'off road' tyre as such, but they are rated as mud and snow and are good on the black top aswell.

Hmmm, very sensible choise of bike. I went for a Suzuki RGV when I had my 250 licence, and somewhat wilder LOL. Yeah i'm only new to road bikes and I've heard that CBs are the best for learners - bulletproof engine, easy to handle etc so I thought it would be the way to go. It gets along well enoug...

Hey . . I've got the same tasks ahead of me when I get around to the EA82T conversion! I've done a water pump before - its fairly straightforward. Having a workshop manual is invaluable - I've got the Haynes and found I can do almost anything now! Dont know much about the head gaskets- but hopefully...

Yeah cheers - I guess i'll leave it how it is - but with the neoprene hose sections replaced with heavy duty reinforced hose and see how it goes - if its a prob I can always change later - not a big job!

Fuel lines for EA82T conversion

I'm aware the conversion to an EA82T in my L wagon requires the MPFI fuel tank and pump - but what about fuel lines? I realise the MPFI engine requires higher fuel pressure so... Will the Carb EA82 lines do the job OR should I see if I can swap the MPFI lines from the donor car; or should I get some...

Yeah thanks, its turned out to be code of 35 - which means either the air flow meter or the EGR solonoid. could just be a dodgy connection too. The car does run ok though
