Congrats, you've done well and obviously a lot of km in a relatively short period- the way the diesels seemingly prefer to run. Do you a readout of your calculated DPF ash level? I'd like to know what to expect before a DPF replacement/rebuild. Which model Coopers do you have? The only ones seeming...

I have been considering a new 2.0L diesel Outback for a little while now, but reading through this thread my intentions have certainly been placed on the back-burner, so to speak. I think it has been posted before in this thread (?), but here is an excerpt from the Subaru website regarding the dies...

Hi Linus. I drive in 6th gear almost every day sitting on about 115. You should be able to sit in 6th gear on the freeway at that speed. That's ridiculous if Subaru told you to forget using 6th gear doing 120km/h. When are you suppose to use it then?

Hi Phil

They said at the time that they cleaned it and conducted a burn off and reset the computer. Unfortunately I didn't ask to many questions about it at the time. Wish I had.

I have found doing the 'burn off' sufficient in preventing it happening that bad again.

Couldn't agree with you more subyroo. It is a manufacturing fault that subaru have burried their head in the sand and dont want to deal with. I was more talking abut how I manage the issue. Subaru have great potential with this engine. I hope they realise it and start doing damage control. Unfortuna...

I got a 5th gen outback and my old man had a 4th gen. I thought the 5th gen was ugly on the outside to begin with but I love the inside so much more then a 4th gen. The 5th gen interior is so much more spacious and comfortable. The exterior has grown on me as well. Also like the little bit extra cle...

Hi Phillip, I have done 150000km in mine and have had all those lights you are referring to happen once in my suby. Had just got it serviced and I drove mine from Sydney to Brisbane. I sat in 6th gear the entire way doing 100km/h. I got amazing fuel efficiency of 4.6lt per 100ks however the next day...

Gday Mate I have a Diesel outback and get mine serviced at Eblen Glenelg. My understanding is that the running gear on these things are pretty much the same so I would have thought servicing would be similar?? I have listed the cost my service below: 50000km - $477.40 62500km - $485.75 ($177.00 labo...

Hey Giles. Dont know if you still have your Diesel. Just curious how you have been going with yours. Have you had any issues? I have done 150000km in mine and have a pretty good run in it. My clutch went pretty early on around 87000km which I thought was a bit weak. but I was living in a hilly area ...

Drive belt tensioner -Outback Diesel

Hi Guys Had my Subaru Outback Diesel for coming up 3 years in June and currently have 153000km on the clock. So far it has been great however in the last 20000km I have 3 new drive belt tensioners start leaking and consequently make the belt very loose and make my engine incredibly noisy. Subaru hav...

Subaru Disel Particle filter

Hi

I have just clicked over 60 000km on my 12month old Outback Diesel. Only had the light come on once, did the a 30minute drive and that fixed it. Never had a problem since.
