Having no electrical power, whatsoever?

Hi I recently replaced the battery I just bought in April 2012 as after a week or so of not driving, it didn't have enough power to start the engine and even jumping it wouldn't revive the battery. I bought a new battery in March 2013 and ended up driving it successfully from Newcastle to Brisbane. ...

Would anyone like my 1993 4wd L series with 2" lift?

If I have to give up my subaru I'd rather have a subaru enthusiast get it. The main reason I am thinking of selling it is I just don't have enough time for minor replacement of parts as it ages. Right now it still has CV's with a bit of noise but I have brand new complete axles from "FROG" :) It has...

last Sorry I still don't know how to make paste them into the thread as fully opened pictures. If you are somewhere between the Sydney and Brisbane area and would like my car drop me a line!... Almost any offer will probably be better than what I can get at the auto auction. Can't say how...

Last pictures of my Subaru

It looks like I won't be keeping my Subaru after all. So busy with life (wife, two puppies etc) that I hardly have free time and I wish it had a lot more power to match my 27x8.5-14 all terrains but now no time to make it better. :( We have an extra vehicle now (Rav4 awd with auto) for the beach. A ...

Can someone suggest a list of tools I need before I start this? :) I'd rather keep my L Series in driveable condition until I think I can finish replacing at least one axle. I'd also like to get it done over the Christmas holidays if possible. I already have a 2 kg sledge hammer, roughly 40 cm long ...

I noticed these plumbing lines under the middle bench. What are they

Sorry no pics available yet, (busy) but I can show them later. I discovered them as I removed the rear bench first on the touring wagon then I noticed I have the exact same plumbing in my L Series. There are 4 lines running along the floor, inside the cab, under the middle bench seat that then bend ...

Can I cut the bottom lip on the inside of a fender?

Hi I'd like to trim away some sheet metal for clearance for my 27x8.5-14 tyres. I did a mock trim on the touring wagon and it seems just inside the fender, about 10cm inboard of the wheel well is a vertical seam. At the bottom of this seem looks like some kind of spot weld. When I cut this spot on t...

2" Exhaust Swap... Should I get new gaskets and hardware?

Hi Quick question if I should invest in new gaskets and/or hardware. The 2" exhaust I pulled off a touring wagon wasn't leaking at the time. Hardware? I ended up cutting the bolts to get the back half off using an angle grinder. I may or may not be able to use the hardware I have off my 1.5" exhaust...

How to replace front axles?

I believe one or both of my inner CV joints are buggered. Is it easier to replace the entire axle assembly so I don't have to refit the CV's? Gregories lists nearly 20 steps to remove the axle including disconnecting the speedo cable. I don't see why the speedo cable needs to be disconnected for an ...

With my new ignition timing after a snapped belt I noticed that my L Series got 9.2 L/100km on 98 octane while on 91 octane my economy is about 11L/100km. I thought my CV noise was the reason for poorer economy. (I'll fix that too) The best economy I've got on 91 octane with the old belt was 9.5L/10...

I recently tried a tank of 98 octane fuel because I wanted to take some friends out for some sand driving and this would obviously put the engine under high load. 98 octane always makes it run smooth. What I didn't expect is this time I actually had slightly better fuel economy than with 91 octane. ...

I bought four 27x8.5-14 A/T tyres from Nankang for $516, brand new. :) They'll go on Battlewagon's old 14" Sunraysias after a wire brush, clean and repaint. I'm looking forward to having at least the same ride height aired down to 15psi as I currently have at 40psi with my 185/70R-14's. I'll ...

ignition timing questions for a EA82

I did a search on ignition timing and found out how mechanical ignitions nights work. mechanical advance is your normal advance for change in rpm. Vacuum advance is often used at low to medium throttle openings for better fuel economy... My engine knocks easily under load at low rpm. Can I avoid som...

What brand of all-terrain tyres do you recommend for a Foz?

I think they run 215/65R-16 tyres.
Do any all-terrains come in that size or slightly-bigger?
