Check if the globes are only HID on low beam, some of them are from memory, buying HID doesn't always mean high and low are both HID, unless that combination would work best for what you want. In the outback there are seperate globes/ reflectors for high and low beam. So i only need my high beams d...

Just rung up the only yokohama dealer in town, $240 each for geolander at-s in the same size as stock, holy moly thats expensive:( I know that off memory someone was able to fit 215/75/R16 (28.7 inch) without any bumper mods, which will give an extra 1.25 inch of clearance under the car from stock ...

What car? It'll be fine. Just remember they take afew seconds to warm up. Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk Outback 3rd gen. Also i am getting a cheapie kit off ebay because i have a $50 visa card to spend. So even if they go it isn't a huge loss and if I'm happy with the light output i know s...

High beam HID
Hi,
Im looking at converting my high beams to HID's.
I was going to go for either 35W or 55W HID kit, but will 55w be too much for/ damage the stock reflectors? Or should i just stick with 35W?
Cheers.

Hey i have the exact same car even in the same colour and i plan to do exactly the same mods as you minus the engine conversion and dccd thingy, i was wondering where did you source your 3" strut top lift from? Ive tried and can't find anyone selling any, also have you had any problems resulting fr...

AC Belt tightener
Hi guys. Me and Taza were as usual stuffing around tinkering with our cars, and we decided to tackle the squeaking coming from my engine. We suspected the A/C belt was loose so decided as both novices to try and tighten it. (Ex pic found online attached) Unfortunately, when tightening the plastic th...

just a bit of lateral thinking here. A portable winch is preferable but its yet another loose item in the car, cables to haul around etc. Then there's the alloy bull bar concerns mentioned already. The rear mounted winch on the tow bar seems a good place to tuck it away. My idea is unconventional (...

I dont know how much different your wheel arches are to mine, but the very very biggest tires i can get on my 16" rims are 215/70 /R16 before they will touch the bumpers. Measure your max diameter that will fit between bumpers (and also importantly under strut perch) then use http://www.miata.net/ga...

Its just the way the engines are built. Boxer engines like high revs. I think youd find if they had put ratios to run the 4 cylinder at 1800 RPM at 110km the fuel economy would be worse because the engine is straining a lot harder, i.e your have to pump a lot more fuel into the engine to maintain it...

I've got a question for you - with the straight through pipe do you get irritated by the droning a cruise or is it not there? Cheers Bennie In my outback the droning isnt really there at all. Its all but un noticable. Coming off the accelerator for a gradual slowdown from fairly high RPM is quite l...

No muffler/straight pipe
Hi. Myself and Taza are interested in the affects disconecting the muffler/ putting a straight pipe has on the car. We have done it in both my outback and his 1st gen forester (temporary fun trial). With both cars the sound is incredible. With the forester it didn't seem to have any ill affects. If ...
