They don't look like lift kit blocks, More like cast spacers. Look Between your engine cross member and the chassis rail, you can't miss it.. Was none there. Ive replaced my crossmember for an engine swap. Unless the previous owner removed them or something...very strange. Could there be difference...

Gen3 Outbacks (and no dubt gen4)have lifting blocks under the engine crossmember, the rear suspension frame and the gearbox crossmember is taller.

Thanks Davidov. Will it be that hard if I just take the harness from the half cut I buy? Also i didn't consider the radiator, that's a good one. I read somewhere that I ca just throws gen 3 b4 Bonet in there aswell, is that what you did with yours? Cheers. Its not that straight forward because WRX ...

Hi Guys, I have high hopes of putting an EJ20 turbo into my Subaru outback MY00 5sp manual. A few things I need to clarify... 1. will the transmission fit with a high/low range gearbox? 2. which model ej20 will work best? (looking at bug eye) 3. exhaust, I have a 2 inch on there at the moment. 4. w...

Outbacks dont have any lift blocks (at least in 3rd gen) it has a different body design that gives it about 20mm extra body lift, and then the strut/spring design gives it the rest. This is why they have a longer steering joint. Dont forget to reinforce the rear spring perch if you go raised springs...

Im curious as to how the rear electric motors will hold up offroad....

Because from how i understand it it could mean that the rear wheels are essentially 'locked'??? As long as the computer torque control manages them well offroad it could be beastly. And electric motors are awesome torque wise.

Ahh this really winds me up. Not only is it annoying, but it's also plain dangerous. What grinds my gears also is 110kmph limits on massive, empty, high quality roads, then seeing the same limit on roads to my place (gravel, windy, thin). Put up the speed on the fancy roads damnit! How much better ...

Taking it over the pits would open up a lot more buyers so it could be worth doing that.

Being an auto you will be fine. The 2.5 has plenty of power. Just keep momentum up, pressures low and make sure you always go out with another vehicle and the correct gear.

If you are using coolant not just water, one way to check is if the exhaust fumes have a 'sweet' smell. Also your oil will possibly be a little milky.

Id go ej20t. Can be had for far cheaper than a 25 and a 20 can be modded for relatively cheaply to get a lot more power than a 25.

I wouldnt go a turbo at all in the L. Just asking for more problems and any turbo motor you get would probably have less power down low than your jdm 25 for offroad.

Does your IACV make a wierd whirring sort of sound when you switch the car off? Mine did and I'm not sure if that's normal but it could have played a part.

Depending on what the calipers came from you might have to change the disc rotor to suit too. Do a search about it - Venom when this way with his liberty - larger rims and rotors... Cheers Bennie My Gen 3 OB Rotors are the same dimensions as the rotors the 4 pots came off (I have these also). If i ...
