Want SU HIFF44 Carburetter

Strange request on a Subaru Site, but would anyone have a SU HIF44 Carby hidden away in the shed somewhere?

Thanks Guys again, think I will go for the 5 Speed and get rid of the gear lever slop as well. I am not going for a lot of horses, just enough to compensate for the Air Con and have a little in reserve when the need arises. Regards Buddyboy.

Thanks

Thanks Guys, can I assume then that the 5 speed would be more appropriate to use with an increase of HP in the EA81, or is there a better option?

Four Speed or Five Speed

Hi Guys,
I have been reading that many of you Brumby Owners have swapped your Four Speed Gearboxes over for Five Speed Gearboxes. What are the advantages of this changeover?

Many thanks to all concerned

Once again, thanks to everyone that contributed to the thread.
I did some maths, wasn't simple to me, but arrived at 6460 rpm, so I will work on that until I purchase a Tacho.

Thanks for all the info and advice. Spoke to the guy selling the Leone this morning and found out that he is a fellow forum member. He has been watching with interest what all had to say about the Turbo into Brumby conversion. I think that we have both come to the same conclusion, that a EA81T or EA...

Thanks Guys for the replies. I should have made what I was intending to do a little clearer. In my first post I mentioned that I had found a EA81T engine, that was just the engine. The donor vehicle, yes it's the one on ebay, I will have a look at it on Monday, I was going to use for the other bits ...

Gannon,
The donor vehicle is a 1989 Leone and my Brumby is a 1989 model, can you see any problems with this exchange, as they are different to the dates you quoted.

Thanks Steptoe for your reply. Yeah the avatar is similar to what I do for most of the day. Banging my head against walls. Well I don't know a lot, but I would imagine that I would require the following. 1. The engine of course. 2. An ECU and loom, out of a vehicle with either a EA81T or EA82T, or s...

Info re Turbo into Brumby

Hi Guys, Just about given up on the EA81 Sports Engine, but have tracked down an EA 81 Turbo Engine, with low Ks. I have seen some info on one of the threads on this site re the installation. Can anyone point me in the right direction, or offer advice on this conversion. If not advisable I will prob...

Thanks Coxy & Spike, I started out wanting to us a twin carby setup, but now I am considering using a weber, less problems with balancing/tuning the carbys. I have spoken to phantom_D earlier when I was looking for the twin carby manifold and he gave me a few clues how to find them. So far I have be...

Info re Hi Flow Head Camshaft

I'm after any information on the camshaft that is suitable for use with Hi Flow Heads for an EA81 Engine, these are the heads that have the exhaust and inlet valves reversed. Can anyone help or is there a thread already?

Backyard Brumby, Nice work, I have a couple of questions for you. First have you run the motor since fitting the new pipework to the heads? Has it effected the back pressure? And what's the name of your exhaust man, if you don't mind revealing his name? I live on the Gold Coast and source a lot of m...

What would be the result if I were to go back to points type distributor and then install something like the Cranes Cam Fireball XR700 and PS20 performance coil. Would there be any benefit?

Thanks Steptoe, me now know what ACA is. To answer the other question raised about the gear and shaft, I don't know, haven't taken the dizy out of the Brumby yet, and perhaps if it is electronic already, may as well leave it there. Is there anything that can be done to these electronic distributors ...

Steptoe, I don't know what ACA Branded parts means. However I have all the particulars off the two Distributors. The first, the one I purchased from the Wrecker, I think is a Nippondenso and has the following numbers stamped on the side 429878602, and under that D4J80-02 2Y05. The other Distributor,...
