Ok good news! traction control done little "if anything" to hamper my efforts today on soft sand and that was with my Jetski on the back, so I am much pleased! I did get bogged once but that was my fault for stopping, but she got herself out no worries, I do notice the need for low range here and a ...

Well I picked up the car this morning with my new rear wing and towbar, I have to say the rear wing makes it almost looks kinda STi....kinda and the tow bar kit was done very well :) I had the same muppet again today who insisted driving on sand was "not softraoding" "sigh" But he did explain to me ...

Well, it may have, but I believe the current model Foz N/A manual still has the low range. It also has an FB engine, so at the very worst case scenario, a transmission case from that should bolt on and have room for the low range... Building a gearbox with a good low range should only be a matter o...

Alex thats all I want to do in it, I dont expect it to be a hilux and certainly didnt expect Subaru to wash their hands of me when i complained and asked for help on what should be a minor set back, I will await Subaru's reply to my letter of complaint, Not sure on my chances but maybe the head offi...

As far as I am concerned its FALSE advertising, regardless of anything. If i wanted a car that could only drive down a flat dirt road I would have bought something basic like a falcon, I have written a letter of complaint stating how they are advertising this as an off road vehicle yet when it comes...

Well I am pissed after my visit to the dealership today! they advised that yes indeed the traction control is mandatory and no there is no way of disabling it.....WTF Subaru? then I proceeded to tell them that is it blows itself up off road I wil expect a warrantly claim. The dealership then tells m...

Thanks I think so too poor little car is getting a bashing, I'm expecting some raised eyebrows tomorrow at Subaru when they jack it up and see all the mud still trapped up there! But I didnt buy this car to drop off the kids at school. I will keep this thread updated I am hoping to source some extra...

first of all welcome to the forum! its good to see someone taking this car through its paces! taking out the fuse would defiantly be the best option. i have driven a liberty and even with the traction control turned off it would also turn back on when i got too sideways ;) i have also read that the...

Hope my above pictures worked? that was the softest areas this car was put through its paces specifically so I can see the design flaws, clearance was fantastic hardly any scraping what so ever, we tried to look for the fuse at the time but no luck? Any hints on what kind of fuse it would be that wo...

It goes in for its first service tomorrow, I will ask the boys at the workshop to show me which fuse to pull, I have alot more confidence the car will do much better without traction on. Again it surprised alot of people with where it went it climbed some very big hills just once I lost momentum tak...

Apparently this was the case with alot of the foresters too though? Easy fix for that just get some low range gears installed? It did considerablly well off road regardless, it went everywhere the prado went in lamington national park (which isnt a small park) but that traction control was a big iss...

Nope we tried holding the traction control down for longer and it did nothing, it is literally re activiating on its own....kind of stupid for an off road vehicle........Not dual range either :( The only way to stop the stalling is to drop the clutch at about 3000rpm which i am thinking is because t...
