2003-2009 Outback Rear Interior Dome Light

Hi All. My problem is the rear interior dome light isn't coming on at all, whether I open the side doors or the tailgate. It also doesn't come on when using the manual switch on the rear dome light assembly. The centre dome light works normally when opening all doors including the tailgate. So openi...

Hi All.

Ok I replaced the neutral switch on the 5sp manual gearbox a few months ago and since a few long runs the problem hasn't returned. Very happy to have it fixed for an easy job and a $60 part off ebay!

Thanks everyone for your input.

Vaughan.

Ok another update: It's related to the gearbox. When in 5th gear if I move the gearstick left/right at coast the cruise control cancels. Also happens more when the road is bumpy and if the tyres are pumped up. Road vibration and/or moving the gearstick deliberately causes it. So there must be a gear...

Rear end sway with King springs on 4GEN Outback

Hi All. I've just had 1" lift KSRR-29 King springs fitted to the rear of my 4GEN Outback while retaining the standard shocks. Since then I've noticed significant rear end sway when bouncing on corners. With the factory springs cornering was fine. Do the King springs have a different spring rate to t...

Hi. Just thought I'd provide an update on this. I've put higher profile /70 tyres on which has reduced the speedo reading by about 6%. Since then the cruise control rarely cancels by itself. So there must be a speed limiter on the cruise control that trips when it's near 110 km/h. It never cancels a...

Ok now that you mention it the cruise control does cancel sometimes when I go over a significant bump or get hit by gusts driving into strong headwinds. The cruise light is constant and doesn't flicker. The clutch is probably 3/4 worn at 230,000 km so could that affect adjustment? I'll see how much ...

Cruise Control cancelling intermittently on Outback

Hi All. I have a 4GEN Outback 5sp manual with factory cruise control. Sometimes I'll be driving for a fair while and then suddenly the cruise control cancels on it's own. If I resume it cancels again repeatedly. When it repeatedly cancels it could be seconds or minutes between episodes. It seems to ...

Hi All. Thanks everyone for the comments. Seems on the forums a few people have gone the 1" strut spacers or King springs for another ~1" lift or both, and then gone with 215/70/16 tyres. I saw a bloke today who had those tyres (Coopers) and King springs. He said he had some minor rubbing on the fro...

15" rims to suit 2003 4GEN Outback?

Hi All. I'm considering replacing my factory 16" rims and 215/60-16 tyres with 15" rims so I can fit 75 profile tyres and let the tyres down safely for sand running. I am reluctant to let low 60 profile tyres down. There are posts here where 225/70-16 tyres etc are being used but when I measure the ...
