Im having problems keeping the car running. When i turn the key in the ignition, the fuel pump engages and sends some fuel up the line, and ...

Have you looked around for the factory headers? Tho not many 1.8 Imprezas around. Just got to stick a bolt in the O2 sensor hole. Or just leave it there unplugged and confuse your local Subaru dealer :p There are 2 impreza sports in local breaker that have factory headers. I just fancy the unequal ...

[QUOTsounds =TOONGA;231311]The uneven headers are great and if you still want the skid plate you can put spacers between it and the crossmember sort all fits. Would love to see some video of the engine running TOONGA
That sounds like the way to go for sure. I will get a video up as soon as I...

Thanks guys. Ive gone with the ej alternator spliced into the l series loom. Im havin good problems getting a spark. The coil is now mounted on the drivers side of the car, opposite to when the ea82 was in there, so ive lengthened the wires for coil and disty to reach. Ive fitted new disty cap, plug...

You will need to one wire on the EJ alternator to ignition on only, otherwise it will always be on and drain the battery. http://ausubaru.com.au/showthread.php?t=14943 http://ausubaru.com.au/showthread.php?t=3385& If you can use the Alternator you have there is a spacer between the pulley and the b...

Thanks for the transmission advice Bennie. I am having it done by a builder, I might try it myself in the future. Pretty chuffed with the radiator myself, took a few evenings of trawling through ebay looking at all the rads for sale and reading dimensions before I chose this one. It is indeed from a...

I'll get those pics right yet. Heres another of the saab radiator in place. The rubber grommets from the old l series rad fit onto the dowels on the bottom of this rad also. I may be lucky to get one of the original holes for the lower dowels to work, but it won't be difficult to drill two if its ne...

Thanks for the help RSR 555 , but I decided to get a local guy to do the rebuild for me. I can watch him, so it will be a good experience. I just don't want to ruin my 52k mile ea trans, getting another would be impossible here. But im still progressing in other ares of the build. Ive just fitted a ...

I disassembled the ej dual range trans today , and have both bare front casings in the back of my dad's jeep so he can get them steam hosed tomorrow when I'm at work. I think I went about it an awkward way, and would like some advice from someone who has done the reassemble if possible. First off , ...

The dual range was the original from my 1986 carb l series. It will be handy for axles being a 25 spline. I noticed the axle shafts are thicker than 23 spline items ive seen pics of. I have a new genuine front axle I bought for a non turbo xt. it has the same inner and outer spline count, but a thin...

I removed the ea82 engine and gearbox today. Here is the old ea82 unit in the middle, with the ej dual range in front, and the carbed ej18 in the back ground. I noticed my ea82 dual range has 25 spline stubs , the same as the ej dual range box I got for th...
