If you've peeled the rubber strip back about 10mm either end you'll see a screw that secures the fibreplastic ends of the racks in place. You need a big rubber mallet to knock 'em out. Maybe you only need someone to sell you the ends - easier to post. I scored a set for nix, not know what they fit....

Nearly picked up a clean white fender today (mine has a ding), nearly had it off, but the dickhead previous owners had welded the fender to the panel that sits under the bumper! What the hell!
