I'd keep an eye on the auctions and buy a damaged car for the parts. That way you know you have all of the parts, and every bolt and bracket etc. I know when I converted mine (Liberty) there were a few bits that I didn't think of until I was bolting it all together. (eg driver's footrest is narrower...

probably the hydraulic lash adjusters. They gum up if you don't do regular oil changes. You could try one of the additives to stop lifter tick, or if that doesn't work you'll have to clean them manually, or replace any stuffed ones. Pull off the rocker gear, remove them from the ends of the rockers,...

Are you just going by where the wheel sits in the guard? I think you'll find that if you move the crossmember back you'll have to move the strut towers too. When I measured mine up I took the strut angle (caster) into account (the Brumby has virtually none) and the crossmember bolts are pretty much ...

I started another thread here Can you tell me how you got the code 54 out of your car? I plugged the black plugs together and the check engine light flashed This code basically tells you that the ECU is having trouble maintaining a steady idle speed. It relates to either an air leak, or a faulty MAP...

Thanks Toonga. after going through that site, and pdftown as well, and downloading a few hundred meg of various manuals (I tried some other models too) I still can't find the right one. These manuals show MAFs, cam angle sensors, ECUs under the dash, and they look to be OBDII. Mine has a MAP sensor,...

Error codes SF Forester
Does any one know where I can find the list of codes or a manual for the early SF Forester? I have a check engine light and a code 54. I have looked at various threads, and online workshop manuals, but it seems that the Aussie SF is a bit different to everything else. The car has been sitting for a ...

Having problems with my '98 SF Forrie atm. It is throwing code 54, and idles like it has a big lumpy cam in it (I wish). Now according to the start of this thread, that code corresponds to 'choke control circuit'. However I'm not sure whether the Foz has the same codes as the early EJ computers as t...
