For sale: 1997 Subaru Forester
For sale: 1997 Subaru Forester I've just moved overseas and I don't want this to collect dust at my Dad's place, so here it is. This is a one-family car - not quite one owner, but collectively we've owned it since new and it's been very well looked after. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/4830460...

Hmmm, well thanks for the insight anyway guys. My understanding of engine internals dries up when you start talking about hydraulic lash adjusters and rocker cam followers. All I know is the car is running again and franken-engine seems A-OK. I was pretty sure that the early EJ motors were non-inter...

'97 Forester EJ20 with EJ22 valves???
Does anyone know anything about these forester EJ20 engines having EJ22 valves? The whole story: 2 weeks ago I got the timing belt on my forester changed because it was about 7 years old (despite having only done 17000km). I was then on a trip last weekend and the check engine light came on and the ...

Yep, good to have a Suby again Jan. Have to come and join you on a trip some time! And yep, Grandma's pretty cool: She's an avid botanist/environmentalist, and used to do a lot of trips out west collecting plants for the Herbarium. The forester served her very well - sadly she can't drive it anymore...

Subaxtreme rear bar on forester questions
Hi all, been a long while since I posted anything on here, but I've recently become the proud owner of a Subaru again. This time a '97 Forester, previously owned by my adventurous, outdoor-loving grandmother. Complete with a 2" lift, King springs, alloy bullbar and SubaXtreme rear bar! I have a coup...

Here's a question. When putting an NA EJ20 into a non lifted L series sedan, does the exhaust that came with the engine (impreza or something) clear the underbody? I think a lot of people put EJs into cars with lift kits which gives you plenty of clearance but just wondering about stock height cars....

How to delete for sale ad??
Hey there, haven't been on the site in a while and didn't realise my for sale ad was still active.
Just wondering if it's the same as how I think it used to be where you just write SOLD in the title or the ad or something?
Thanks,
Tommo.

Identifying L series gearboxes, 3.9 or 3.7?
I have a question about L series manual gearboxes. I was wondering if there's any way of telling what ratio they are from the outside? (assuming they haven't been tinkered with) Any markings? Particular models the 3.7s and 3.9s came on? One way I've just thought of would be that the rear diff someti...

Organising a club day like that sounds like a great idea Brett. I don't think it's urgent it's just something I've been meaning to do for a while now. When I asked at repco there were 2 different lenth belts so I'm guessing the SOHC (mine) will be the shorter one? And thanks Dave I'll check the teet...

Need help doing timing belt... (brisbane)
Ok so I want to change the timing belt on my EJ20. Normally I'll have a go at anything that needs to be done to my car but I just really don't know where to start with this, ie. went to repco today and there were 2 different belts for the EJ20 and I don't know which one to get without pulling off th...
