Brumby Power steering mod. 3 times over
Auster; Good fun isn't it. As I said in the title I've had to do mine 3 times. Initially I bought a written off forester and took it all out of the foreter and put it in the brumby including the ee20 engine 5 speed manual gearbox and various other bits and pieces. Worked beautiful or so I thought bu...

Wrote a big long burst on the weekend explaining all the hassles of installing A forester running gear into a brumby and it's all gone. It was in reply to el freddo's request that I hadn't submitted a thread about it or he had missed it. The latter was correct. But here is a previous one from EJ INT...

Stuck to cable Couldn't see how you could get a Hydro in behind power brake unit. The reason is the slave cylinder on top of the bell housing would be higher than the master cylinder so fluid would drain back to the reservoir overnight as they are only cup seals in the slave cylinder and you would g...

Bennie Yes pal, new cable took a lot of adjusting until it settled down to right length. Also the clutch lever itself has a massive spring on it I assume to bottom out the slave cylinder when the clutch is released. The original gearbox doesn,t have one at all. I don,t find it that hard just that me...

I,ve done the same as you guys and converted a 91 brumby to a 91 forester EJ 20 and transmission. Have now done 2000 k,s in it and reckon it,s drivable. Took it back to mechanics to get a few bugs out of it and a polish, but all the blokes that drive it reckon it,s RS. Biggest problem is the CLUTCH ...

Low high range selector
I got caught with my EJ converted brumby when I first drove it. I didn't hook up the L H range lever as it hits the gear lever, and it was in Low. I clicked it into high with a screwdriver but didn,t secure it there. First set of lights it disengaged and stayed in between the two ranges so I couldn,...

Steering drama fixed thanks to you guys appreciated your help!!!! Next problem CLUTCH :- Kept cable (new modified longer) but now too heavy. Drove it 30 KMS and back for VASS inspection and my foot was nearly dropping off in heavy traffic. It was knocked back for the power steering (which, I hope, y...

Brumby power steering Ex 2001 Forester. VASS guy has rejected it due to too much angle between steering column (original) and rack input shaft(forester). He says 30 Deg max and we have about 60 Deg. There is a double universal joint joining them and he wants the valve in the pump adjusted to suit. W...

Brumby Power Steering mod
I Have installed power steering rack ex 2001 forester into the brumby ej20 conversion to keep the pump. Vass guy has knocked it back as there is too much angle between the steering column and the rack input. There is a double universal between them but he reckons 30 Deg (we have 60 deg est.)max and ...
