Yeah I might try that next (I'm working on my honda postie bike at the moment and having far more sucess), I'm also tempted to see if a fuel pump from an old toyota corolla will work on this suby. Anyone every tried that?

Yeah the fuel pump seems to be working, I can hear it, although I haven't actually checked the flow (whats the best way of doing that?). I put new fuel filters in today..same prob, starts then konks out in 10 seconds or so.

I checked mine again today, it is bolted to the underside of the floor pan near the fuel tank, I gave it a few taps with the screwdriver handle and did the same to the carby but same problem, starts ok, runs for 5-10 seconds then dies, same every time. Any ideas anyone?

Nah, all good, got the info I needed the other link you provided. Thanks again. Now I just gotta work out whats going with my fuel system.

Ahhh.. I think I have the same problem. I got my old wagon started but it only runs for 5 - 10 seconds then konks out every time:(. Choke position doesn't seem to change it, motor sounds ok when its going, Seems to be a fuel delivery issue unless anyone can suggest anything else??

After one but my searching has lead me to several defunct or not working links,
Anyone know a current location??

Yeah, I sprayed some 'start ya bastard' in the air cleaner but still didn't fire. Tomorrow I'll check the state of the air filter which I should have done today. A mate of mine got the old Landrover in my driveway started by simply removing the old clogged air filter to let clean air get in. The mix...

Thanks Toonga, It was cranking over ok but not starting, I guess I just flattened the battery and all it could do was click. I was being careful not to give it too much and burn out the starter motor (is that a common occurrence with these cars?). I've checked all the fuses, they're ok. I wasn't sur...

Trying to start an 83' wagon that hasn't been started in 18 months. Just getting a click form under the bonnet (starter motor??) when I turn the key, Is this a weak battery or something else? Anything else to be mindful of starting on of these that hasn't been fired up in a while??
