Still here, present & accounted for. Mostly check new posts nearly every day. Still a great source of information which is good, as the Brumby I bought always has issues. Don't post often unless I have something significant to add.

Never have I had the need to remove the crankshaft pulley to fit an oil pump on an EA81, have replaced 4 so far.
Sure, removing the pulley would make it easier, but from my experience it can easily be fitted with a little patience.

I placed the hacksaw cuts opposite each other, knocked out half a shell then the other using FBH & steel pin punch. No, they don't come out easily.

I had exactly the same issues with my Brumby when first purchased.
Problems were the vacuum advance diaphragm had a hole in it, & the centrifugal advance mechanism was seized/broken springs.

I used the Superpro SPK3005 kit, Pressed it in myself using a 100mm bench vice - no prob at all :) BTW this kit is available on an Ebay store for around $50. That's interesting, I tried chasing up a Nolathane from local parts shop & was told they don't exist:(.
Thanks for the pic. & idea, If I have trouble pushing it in will cut in half & press both sides in with a bench vice. Once it is all bolted up it cant go anywhere!

OK, Thanks, so I guess the whole diff has to be lowered. The 19mm bolts on end of moustache bar definitely looks the easiest option, was very reluctant to remove 2 bolts on back of diff, look to be PITA to realign. Will get it done over the weekend. The thermo sensor switch on my brumby failed about a month ago. It seemed to have the reverse effect, the thermo fan was running constantly. Works fine now after a new one was fitted.

Hi Muz, my brumby fuel gauge was doing the same thing, like it since I bought it. Seemed to fix itself after I slammed into a wombat, so am reasonably certain it was the sender in my case. Expensive exercise to diagnose the fault though:(
