ok, i want an honest opinion... i'm not very mechanically minded, i can do a fair bit, but if it's too technical i'll be lost... how difficult is it to put a 5 speed off a EA-82 on to an EA-81? i've been reading through the threads and some of the technical jargon is losing me, is it as big a job as...

nah, i did think about it... but decided, since it was a first time build i would KISS it..

just concentrating on functionality, some one else can use my technique(if it works) and make it flash if they want..

i'm gonna sand the tonneau cleat holes, then dent them in a bit with a punch to give me something for the filler to grab on to... i wish i had the means to weld them, but it's just not my available means atm.. bog will have to do for now.

i don't have a welder, but i have to patch up the holes from the old tonneau cleats any way.. so another little hole will be no big deal

after a bit of thinking, i've decided(for security purposes) i'm gonna do it full fibreglass instead of rubber... although i will still have a rubber surround at the cab to help seal out water..

i'm thinking i may have to weld up all the other holes or replace the pipe section of the fork.. i'll post a pic when i get it out...
gotta take the exhaust down, cant get any spanners/sockets on it with the exhaust bracket in the way...

eeeeew... attempted to take the fork out to cut it but it's gonna be harder than i thought.. exhaust has to come down first... and by the looks of the fork, someone had a go at it in the past and butchered it.. it looks a bit battered and nasty :(

that's one way to do a dual carb setup... manifold airflow disruption would be nearly none existent..

i pulled the cluster out (to have a look) i decided to buy a 2" tacho to mount to the pillar...
although i think i cleaned 25 yrs worth of dust and dirt out of the workings of the cluster.. lol
