It's nothing fancy, just a resistor, commonly used to trick ECU's into thinking that a sensor is behaving normally when it isn't actually there, for example a cat convertor or EGR sensor.

There are aftermarket dicky seats available. I know some one who had a set fitted to his Gen3 Liberty back in 2000, came with seatbelts, headrests, all ADR approved.

Quite common to see to in falcon and commodore wagons.

Major Issues The viscous coupling in the centre diff tends to go around the 150-200k mark, once this fails the centre diff is effectively locked.
