1995 Phase 1 EJ22 wiring diagram
Wondering if anyone has a wiring diagram for a 1995 Subaru Legacy 2.2 (NZ-new)? My flatmate has purchased it to re-power his new jetboat with (is running a carbed EJ18 at the moment and it's a little gutless). The aim is to switch to an MPFI EJ22. Both motors are phase 1 SOHC EJ motors so is bolt-in...

'Custom' could simply mean matching splines and slipping different CVs onto a shaft used on another vehicle. CV's drive shafts and diffs seem to be very standardised. For example, the R180 long nose diff is used in allot of old Nissans. So are R160s. People swap subie ones into Datsuns all the time...

The EE20 has some 350 Nm of torque at 1800-2400rpm, whereas the EZ30D has only 289 Nm at 400rpm. So that's a LOT more torque than anyone has probably ever put through a D/R before and at lower RPMs too. It would be interesting to see how it held up. Some early diesel Outbacks here in NZ did use the ...

I'd recommend against towing it with your MY... I've towed a KP Starlet rally car on a single-axle unbraked trailer behind a 2008 2.0 Impreza and that was not fun. The car + trailer would have been pushing a ton, at least, and it had no power at all up hills, and braking was bad enough. This in a ca...

idk if Kiwisoob is still online, but I'll give you a rundown of the southern NZ perspective! MYs have essentially vanished. Last I saw on the road was a Brumby and even they're quite rare, and looking rough/rusty. Last sedan I saw was last year, wagon even longer and it was munted. L series, very ra...

It would be a twin carb on a standard intake manifold wouldn't it? The 'safari' engines were just a factory mod for the rally teams weren't they? The two RXs in the wrecker's yard both have the 'standard' EA81S, twin carb with reversed valves etc. The one in the link (for sale on TradeMe for $20,00...

Will do Cliff, all of the info will go in my resto interior thread when I get around to it. Bennie, that's good to know thanks. If it is a genuine RX coupe though it will have the 6 gauge that I'm after, and it has the same dash I have as I can see through the windscreen in the few pics on that lis...

If you're really desperate, there are two JDM MY RX coupes and a JDM MY touring wagon sitting in a wrecker's yard in Crowmwell. Take a look on trademe, search for subaru leone and it's the auction for 'subaru 80 to 85 parts'. Transtasman shipping could be a killer though, depending on whether he's w...

Found these guys from Czechoslovakia who have built an incredible L-series Touring Wagon and raced it successfully in multiple intercontinental rallies. I think we'd all love to do something like this. Looks like they're running a 2" lift kit, rally tyres on 15" Peugeot rims, WRX or STi engine with ...

It's a JDM RX. Someone's removed the factory decals from the sides though, or else it's been repainted. One of these came up for sale in NZ recently too. It's got the same gearbox as a Brumby basically. 4-speed, FWD, 4WDhi, 4WDlo. I believe these had an LSD rear diff though. The EA81T was sold concu...
