Optiumum oil type for MY03 N/A Foz (+200,000km) ?

Hi there,
Just wondering what grade/type oils people are using in their SG N/A Foresters? My manual lists 5w-30 as the preferred grade, but also notes 10w-30 and 10w-40 as options.

5w-30, 10w-40, other?
Fully synthetic, semi synthetic??

Cheers.

Buttons not working on top of AUSubaru page?

Hi there,
It seems to me that the 'home, forums, register, members & faq' buttons are not working.... the ones located at the top of the page? Is this related to the page setup or my computer?

Cheers.

Yep, that is a pretty good price. During my research I did see a pair of KYB rears on Ebay (for about
$310 posted) but we elected to pay the extra and buy locally on this occasion.

As the work was finished up with a wheel alignment, here is a copy of the sheet
for those that may be interested. The car has been set up with about (-)3/4 of a degree camber all round.

'03 Forester.... A Bit of Work Done

Hey Ausubaru Forums, I got a little bit of work done on our '03 Subie Forester last weekend and I thought I would just post up a few pics and details. This Foz has 206K on it, auto, good service history and is generally in pretty good order. http://i530.photobucket.com/albums/dd344/sneak880/Subaru%2...

The wrecker option worked out well....

I picked up a second hand one from a wrecked S2 Forester for $5. A significant
saving over the new price from Subaru, which I think is about $50 for a pair.

Thanks for the tips there Toonga and RSR. I'm a little hesitant on the Ebay items, as I have bought the universal cheapies before (for another vehicle) and they didn't seem to work very well. The wrecker is an option for sure, depending on whether their price is extortionate or not.

Cheers.

Washer Jets for an '03 Forester

Hi there,
I'm looking to source a pair of new after-market windscreen washer jets for my '03 Forester. I understand that I can get a pair directly from Subaru, but these are pretty pricey.

Does anybody have any suggestions for options?

Thanks.

Thanks Yarney....
I had a look and they are a standard shock body without the additional cannister on my 03 Foz X.

I scoped around on the web and found a pic of the SG SLS rear shock, just for comparison.

2003 Forester.... Rear (SLS) Suspension Question?

Hi there, I have a standard 2003 Forester 2.5 (05/03 build) and was just wondering if this model has the 'self levelling' rear suspension or not. I am assuming that as it is not the XT (or other top end model) that it does NOT have SLS.... Correct? How do I tell in this instance? I am looking to rep...

...... If you have a quick look online for DPF issues, you'll find them everywhere. Volkswagens, Volvos, Holdens, Subarus and everything in between. The manufacturers have been forced into fitting these things, and there's no easy way around it if you want to sell a diesel car. They're compromised,...

I have been considering a new 2.0L diesel Outback for a little while now, but reading through this thread my intentions have certainly been placed on the back-burner, so to speak. I think it has been posted before in this thread (?), but here is an excerpt from the Subaru website regarding the diese...
