Mt Mee tracks

Hi all, I have an 04 Forester XT with 2" lift and looking to explore some of the tracks in the Mt Mee area. From what i hear the tracks range from easy to difficult. Would appreciate suggestions from people who know the area on tracks suitable for subarus that arent to easy or super difficult. Looki...

Hi rise / Ausubaru strut lift

Hi All, Ive sent a few emails out but havent heard back and am wondering if Ausubaru or hirise are still building lift kits? Im guessing if they have shut up shop the only alternative is Scorpion who are good but expensive. Any advice on kits still available would be much appreciated. Im looking for...

Definately no patrol for me...Great if your crossing the Simpson Desert in flood but for the other 99% of the time they're to big and heavy to drive around. They lack a bit of character i reckon and are overkill for most of the beaches you find around South East QLD. Thanks for the feedback Ricsta, ...

I thought that might be the case but there are quite a lot of late model foresters on the beach, people dont seem scared of getting them dirty. i guess they are marketed as being more of an offroad model in comparison to the liberty's. Than again with a name like 'outback' you think people who dont ...

Gen 2 vs Gen 3 liberty

Hi Just wondering if someone can tell me the pros and cons in terms of offroad ability between the gen 2 liberty/outback and the gen 3 liberty/outback. I own a 95 liberty with outback struts and king springs and do a lot of beach driving and its been the best suby ive owned for sure. I havent seen a...

nice car

Thats a great looking car. love the bullbar and the sump gaurd and that lower gear ratio must make big difference. i had my liberty gearbox rebuilt by Scorpion and really wanted to get the lower gearing but couldnt spend the extra cash at the time. i definately will next time. that seems to be my bi...

liberty at Byfield

Gday Nothing to exciting but a good day out at Byfield national park north east of Rockhampton in Qld a couple of months back. We had a stern warning from the ranger that we shouldnt be heading in there with the lib as theres some big sand dune climbs on the way in, deep ruts blah blah blah. There w...

Yep, its great driving a liberty onto a barge packed with nissan and toyota drivers, the head turning and that look like 'what the hell is that doing on here'. We did nearly 300km's over 6 days and never once looked like getting into strife. This is the first time to Moreton with the Liberty and aft...

Thanks for that Brett...Ive still got the 16" Forester rims with 205 tyres, but has great clearance even with the lower profile. they dont seem to float as well on the sand though so may change to 15" rims to get a higher profile tyre when these ones wear out. Love the 2nd gen Lib its a big step up ...

sump guard

Gday I have a similar coloured gen 2 lib that i have just fitted outback struts and raised springs to. i noticed in one of the pics that there was what looked like an ea81 sump guard on the floor. just wondered if you bolted this on and if so was it much of a drama. my lib has no lift so may affect ...

tyre-rim combo for lifted 2nd gen lib

Wondering what peolple think is the best tyre-rim combonation for a lifted lib. 16 inch rims or 15 inch rims. The car will be spending most of its time on the bitumen obviously with predominately sand driving in mind. Are 15 inch tyre easier to come buy, cheaper with greater size (height) variabilit...

Ah, so even if they do fit, the outback struts have more travel? Im finding it hard to locate some good second hand outback struts and the Forester struts seem more available.

Thanks for your thoughts mate. I have been down the turbo road before puting an EJ20T into my brumby thanks to BYB-01. While it was a great car i learned that these operations arent cheap and always seem to run into the red. Anyway for now will try a few of your suggestions and concentrate on gettin...

Increasing power in EJ22

Hi all Have recently acquired a 95 gen2 Lib wagon. While i would love to put in a turbo motor it not really an option right now, so was wondering if there are some mods i can make to the existing EJ22. The motor is in great condition but feels restricted so could probably do with a new exhaust, pod f...

03 forester gearbox into 95 lib?

Gday all I have just purchased a 95 lib GX that needs a little gearbox attention (rear or front bearing i think). i was going to get the old box operated on but have come across a 2003 forester gearbox (previously coupled to a 2.5) that has done only 45000kms and thought this may be a better way to ...
