I should also have said that the whole charcoal canister system is gone. The only hose going into the Carby is the fuel line, the return line goes back to correct place, there is the vacumn line to the dizzy and that's it. The crankcase vent jigger goes into the aircleaner as do the rocker vents, th...

Thanks for your replies fellas, I've had the top off the carby today and everything is fine, it's the black float type buts it's sound and there is nothing in there, clean as. The level of the float is correct and all, it seriously has me beat. When it was overflowing with fuel I took the return fue...

The carby has just had a kit in it, had an acid bath etc so it was spotlessly clean when I put it on a week or so ago. I am wondering if the 89 plunger type fuel pump is pumpIng too much fuel for an 83 model carby. If that was a problem is there a fuel pump available that would fit straight on that ...

Fuel pump
I have a problem with an 89 Brumby in that it began stalling when slowing down. It stalled today coming down my drive and when I stopped I could hear a bubbling sound. Turns out the carburettor was full of fuel, like highly pressurised. there was petrol coming out of nearly every place possible, sor...

Carburettor help
Anyone know how an EA81 brumby runs with an Empi or Weber carby. Would either give me a little more pickup etc? My brumby has it's original Hitachi but either idles too fast or stalls, its slow to pickup and I would like it to go a little better. I also have a carby off a 84 wagon. Would I be better...

90 model Brumby won't start
It has an EA81 engine in good nick & normally runs well. The other day it just wouldn't start, just nothing? The only clue I have is that when I went to turn off the ignition after trying to get it going it sounded like it alost fired when the key was halfway between ignition & off. Could it need a ...

Yes, I've disconnected the low range linkage, taken out the transfer case bolts. The front of the diff / gearbox housing wants to come apart but it seems like it's really tightly together at the back. I tried both tapping & levering it but it just won't move. The last gearbox I did was a roadranger ...

does anyone know how to split the gearbox on a brumby? I have undone all the bolts, the front part of the box wants to come apart but not the back?
