Some Slotted front discs/decent pads would be worth the money imo.. L series get pretty bad brake fade when slowing from slightly higher speeds and this would help and is in ur price range..

I had a 4 year old gell cell battery from a mobility scooter that started my gas L series ( needed at least 10-15 cranks every morning) for a year. Just chuck something around 350-400 CCA in and it'll be fine. You'll only run into trouble if you leave a fridge on overnight and dont drive to recharge...

Your foot is on the clutch right? Lol jk, +1 for a vacuum leak. Very often ive had the vacuum lines at T piece under the air cleaner come off when putting it back on. Cant say whether a leak this small would cause stalling tho.

Hey ive been told by a wholesaler that i have first dibs on a 89 EFI L series sedan, white in colour, 140k, in good condition for $2000 firm. I have not seen the car myself but that can be arranged. Let me know before next week or you'll see it on gumtree for more $..

I just got close to 10ltr/100km with ej22 and 14"s.. This was a trip only on the highway for a whole tank tho otherwise i dont get even close!! Im no lead foot either..

Although not a suby, I was driving an automatic mazda 6 at the petrol station. Went to go backward with my head turned round over the seat and everything and went forward instead.. luckily realised straight away and caused no damage except to my driving ego haha
