They have monumental headgasket issues, although the majority of them would have been fixed by now. 8k will pick you up a gen3 outback with a SOHC 2.5l. Thats where id be headed. alex Be wary of ...

Outbacks dont have any lift blocks (at least in 3rd gen) it has a different body design that gives it about 20mm extra body lift, and then the strut/spring design gives it the rest. This is why they have a longer steering joint. Dont forget to reinforce the rear spring perch if you go raised spring...

I've never seen "limited edition" but they only came in as RX or RX Bilstien. Only thing about these Bilstien is only the struts they have installed & different Rims.

Defects I've found with the repairs so far: 2 hail dint's still on the body. 2 paint runs, one of the rear wing and one under the rear passenger door. Pain...

(surely you put gearbox oil in the front diff and automatic transmission fluid as well?!?!?) (as there is ...

ah yeah by 2 teeths might be nothing - wouldnt be worried about it but yes it may idle roughly. In one of my cars in the past I did advance the timing by 1 or 2 teeths to gain better power output to pre denote early.
