Running tappet clearances different to specified, slightly adjusts your cam timing and lobe shape. Most of the time it makes little difference, but to get maximum performance out of it, set it to what is specified for that cam, not the motor. The difference is more noticeable on a new motor, has les...

Not the diff - a worn out second gear in a turbo box. You should know the turbo box's abuse/issues with time. Rear diff stubs/shafts are easy to replace in my mind. I'm keen to see what happens anyway. Starting with a worn gear is not the best, especially with how you are using it. Its nicer to use...

If you can break a 4.11 (unless it was a twisted tooth to start with) you will destroy a 4.44 or the rear diff axles. I have seen quite a few stripped teeth (non WRX) Subaru boxes, a lot of them have had one twisted tooth. You can see the wear pattern on one tooth is different to the rest. We assume...

One of my L's has a speedo gearbox.
It uses a short speedo cable from the gearbox to the speedo box, then the normal speedo cable joins on the other side.
Was fitted for Eng Cert to run 14" wheels.
"Came from an auto elec on the Nepaen Hwy" I was told.
Sorry, no more info.

I have one of those in an L.
It uses a short speed cable to connect it to the gearbox, the normal speedo cable is connected to the other side.
It was required for an eng cert for 14" wheels.
Was supplied by "an autoe elec on the Nepean Hwy", was all I was told.
Sorry no more info.

Anymore than 2, not legal in Vic.

The curved sides of the flanges were ground straight so the weld would not be drilled through and the holes will drilled oversize to allow for movement.

The OEM roof lining shrinks, causing it to pull off and fall.
Rather than inverting the car, he should get rid of the current roof lining, buy some new stuff, its cheap, then spray glue it on.
Although inverting the car would make it easier.

My 98 Outback starter made a whine, turned out the bronze bush on the gear end of the starter shaft had chewed out. Replaced bush, all quiet now.
Had to machine a bigger bush, as the alloy housing had also been damaged.
It was letting the teeth go out of alignment, hence the whine.

This is where you get into the differences of the parts used, is your cam a plain machined cam or has it been molly coated? Just follow the instructions for the parts used in your motor. Timing is not critical under no load, as long as it is roughly right. Under load, different story. It will get co...

It often runs through a fuse in a plastic tube (fuse holder), hanging off the +ve battery terminal. Does your dash fan still work? If not, the A/C will not work. The relays sit on the back of the front strut tower on the drivers side. It can have either one or two pressure switches on the pipes comi...
