(Bringing this back from the dead) >DO NOT RE-TORQUE YOU HEAD BOLTS IN ANY EJ MOTOR! or you WILL have a head gasket failure. >The bolts are what they call 'torque to yield' bolts or 'Stretch bolts' they are a one use bolt. From reading elsewhere, this is only half correct. They are torque to yield b...

It's like a DL with almost all the fruit of a GL. Just needs fast glass! Seriously, the build sheet must have been an odd one. Base model DL, but with the EA81 instead of EA71, auto instead of manual, AND factory AC. I've only seen a handful of DL's here but they've been EA71's and definitely no AC....

It came off an EA81 intake that I was given (by Volks-Baru in Dandenong). I shipped the intake to a BRAT owner in Guam and the carby has been sitting around collecting dust. I don't have a stock Brumby carby on mine anymore so didn't check it was a factory Hitachi :) Looks like you have a solution n...

Are you planning on retrofitting the stock front bar also ?

You could mill up a set of alloy centre caps out of acetal or similar very easily for day-to-day use. Use badges from a stock MY centre cap to complete the period look.

Bennie, I can help you out with these no problem. If you could PM me a photo showing exactly where the bolts are located I can pull them from PAP Kilsyth for you by the weekend.

Imlach's 31-7: Red 1989 Brumby, basic model. Has a home-made rollbar of sorts and a bolt-on front bar. Tailgate is still there but rough. No tailgate trim. Both taillights there but damaged (drivers side small crack, pass-side smashed). Interior essentially complete. Didn't really notice anything el...

Jolly's Dandenong 23-7. Brumby - tailgate there but a bit beat up - repairable. Trim still there but very rough. Both tail lights damaged (pass-side is inside cab behind drivers door). Has AC. Body is pretty rough but complete. I grabbed the pass-side gutter rail trim and the front windscreen corner...

I ran 505's (14" steel) with no issues at all for about 5 years. Perfect offset for Brumby. Pretty much unbreakable. Very rarely can find them at a junkyard.
Wagon are a little wider than sedan, I ran sedan all round.

Probably wasn't removed directly away from the mount, ie. pulled towards body instead of at a 30 degree angle. And then when re-fitting it would have fallen apart as it was re "attached" :(

I could cut out the middle section from the wagon and hot glue it in place as a work-around, but I am hoping to just get the right part.

Here is a comparison between sedan/coupe and wagon (Brumby is a simplified version of the sedan/coupe without the intermittent, and base model MY sedan is the same from memory - though I recall an early MY (1980 DL sedan) which only had on/off from memory) : http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz18/d...

Intermittent. I forgot to mention the base model DL's (at least in sedans) did come without intermittent. Otherwise I could just use a Brumby one :)
