Thanks for the info Sven, how much would you call cheap? Got your mail RSR555 I'll take a look at the Green Gt and compare power. Maybe I had higher expectations of a turbo. If it does lack power is this a major issue? Lady seems genuine not dodgy, she does what her mechanic says and brings it in fo...

99 GT Forester peeling paint and noisey engine

I was having a look at a GT Forester 230 000km to buy today but the clear coat on the bonnet, roof and tailgate has blistered in large areas and lifted off, does anyone know would this be an expensive repair at a panel shop? The engine also sounded a bit noisey I mean it's louder than my other Subar...

Even with new springs/struts all round, my rear still sits low :( NachaLuva my new 98 Forester has a saggy butt and I was thinking of new struts and standard height king springs. Did you go for the standard Forester height king springs and what brand of struts did you put in? After reading this blo...

2.0l Forester/Imprezza exhaust

I just need the front Y part that comes off the engine of the exhaust system.
Previous owner seems to have crushed mine on some serious rocks.

Yep gravity sucks.
Jules yes it's my Liberty:(
Yes it is a drip on the timing cover but it's seems to be more of a dried up drip as i it's quite thick and "cluggy" whereas the other stuff near the hex plug is fresh I too thought/hoped it may have been from the hex plug.

Coolant leaking near sump?

I just replace a small leaking hose connecting onto the thermostat and I have now noticed another leak. But this one looks like it's coming out from where the sump bolts onto the engine. One drip every 15 seconds $20 worth of coolant just dripping away:mad: I'll attach a pic Any ideas where this lea...

Why would they use LSD oil?

I was looking through the service records of the 2.0l auto forester I just bought and it says they have used LSD oil, but I didn't think this car had and LSD diff. Any one know why they might have used this? Does it matter?

OK I'm not going to drive it until I get the new timing belt.
If I get the belt done at 130k then I wouldn't need to get it changed until 230k. So... should I get the water pump and belt tensioner's done at this 130k or the next 230k timing belt change?
