The newer 05-07 SG has variable valve timing built into the engine making it more efficient all round.
also has a better auto gearbox thats more responsive.

Other than that they are similar..

My brumby has gotten 720km to the tank anf was below the E but not spluttering. Stock EA81 with 4 speed. My Forester as a 2.0l managed 550km to a tank around town.. best I got was 760km cruising at 100km for 7hours or so. With its 2.5l engine it does 500 around town and ~650km on the highway. 2003 o...

How much money do you have to spend?? A new one? 2nd hand?
A 05-07 SG is a good pick. Check for service history, suspension noises, oil leaks, clunky gearboxes and just the usual.

I don't go offroad with mine... just onroad so they are fine Elfreddo.
I only paid $200 for all 4 trade price vs $500+ for KYB's when im pulling them out to go 5 stud anyway.

Yes I have a set in my brumby. I got them through Supacheap relatively cheap.
they have a good ride with the stock springs and are height adjustable. I have mine wound all the way down. I also have them in the rear.
I'd recommend them!

Havings just bought a L series with ej22, awd (sf foz box) and 5 stud cr00s**** kit with foz brakes Id say the brakes are the best part.
Cr0ss**** don't make the kits anymore unfortunately. Thus I bought a whole car, running and licenced for half the price of the kit.

I'll take 2x pairs..
Will they accept the same bolts as listed in the above link? Do they have a hub centre/bore/lip that a rim can sit on?
what thickness will they be?

Brumby 5 Stud conversion - Suspension options

Well I'm looling to achieve better handling out of the little ute. Its currently RWD amd has the adjustable suspension wound all the way down. Ive replaced most of the bushes, mounts and bearing under the car. Feels tight except for the steering and brakes! Cr***B*** don't make their kits anymore ho...

Sorry to hear about the car Pedro, lucky it didn't cost you a motor though. Both you and your car are safe atleast, even with the useless RAA?? (RAC over here..). I too have the highest cover possible which has 'done the job' on both offroad incidents when I snapped both front coil springs! I would ...

Standard front swaybar?

Highly recommend doing this if you don't offroad a Brumby! Drives really well, handles weight in the back without loosing steering or the front wheels lifting off the ground. Rear end steps out nicely in the drive and shit scary in the wet! Rear diff bushes flog out pretty quick if they haven't been...
