They werent imported to australia unless they're private import, most of them went to America, they were based on Gen 3 outback.

I thought they were made by Subaru America, dont think the Japs got them either.

For MY application there was a very real realistic power/torque upgrade, and I'd recommend it to anyone with an NA EA82! I total agree, but thats a little of the subject - EA82T`s Ok, I think that's a little overboard. I still believe that a better head design was available for the EA82 and that Ov...

Acording to our government Australians want Australia to be a multicultural country - I am Australian, and I dont ever recall being asked.

Personally , I dont care who comes to live here, just leave your violence at home ,obey our laws and respect our ways.

I'm not entirely sure what the go pedal micro switch does , I know the 4 plug ones don't have that .

I was always led to believe it tells the computer to go "full rich" when the pedal is to the metal.

Hi Tex, send me a PM with your details etc. (its easier for me to keep track of it all through PM`s)

That dude is Checkers. I suppose comapring an EJ in its own body, with its own gearbox and brakes is not the best way to assess how same will go in a lighter MY or L series either. Maybe it is the delivery of power and torque from the EJ that is more noticeable than the actual figures, especially i...

And that is the reason why I went the EJ for my setup. Power/torque upgrade for my L while using "factory engineering"... There is no realistic power/torque upgrade going from an EA82T to an EJ22. I agree with this - the EA82's head design seems to have been done on the cheap and in a rush. The cam...

Yeah I agree, the torque steer takes a bit of getting used to, luckily one of my RX`s had the L Series awd box fitted. But in theory, if the EJ22 had the same power ( allthough it comes in alot less hash), still would/should suffer from some form of torque steer too. I am a big fan of all Suby motor...

HiRise was just the guy Brett used to manufacture his kits at one stage, then he went out on his own, Dave (Suby Wan Kenobi) now builds the backyard boys kits, though I doubt he will build you a 6 inch kit as it draws too much attention from the cops which will wreck it for all of us.

mmm I would have to disagree with you straight up. I have towed a lot with the EJ22 and found it to be a great engine with no over heating and never any issues. I have towed to melbourne and back which I would call a significant distance. Towing with the EA82T on the other hand sucked. Yeah it pull...

The EA82T was an excellent tow engine, provided you spent money and fitted a twin core radiator, with maximum torque at 2800 odd RPM (as apposed to the EJ22`s 4400+rpm), what more could you ask for. Yeah they suffered a bit of lag initially, but who drives around continually at 1000rpm anyway, mid r...

You would have to be doing very well to get water into the intake funnel on the outback, i rekon the front of the bonnet would have to be under water before water was sucked up over the top of the radiator. It happens quite easy actually, a few members of the Suby club have been caught out by this ...

Because it is a budget race car, a cheap way is where the swing arms bolt to the crossmember, simply drill two new holes further out on the crossmember and move the swing arms out to these, also you may be able to slot the holes at the top of the struts and move them in a little.

The beauty of a locking diff(as opposed to auto-locking) is that when you don't need it locked, it's a standard open diff, and so not stressing anything.

Thats the beauty of a detroit, they allow the back wheels to rotate at different speeds when cornering.
