2 dead subi's a farm wagon coming up

G'day Guy's, Well with that new head gasket on our subi wagon being a waste of time as water kept leaking and a subi car local the same blowing a gas tank but the engine and front section are still good. I could have 2 old ones to make either a 6 or 8 wheel drive farm buggy. I did go and look at a 6...

G'day Guy's, Anyway ended up getting some M10 x 1.25mm Graded 8.8 bolts and used them, I had to run a die down on some to make the bolt thread the right length. Got the motor all back together and she kicked into life pretty well straight away. No more coolant leaks and the motor is running sweet no...

G'day Guy's, Well got to work on the subi today and got the head off and found it wasn't tight so no wonder it leaked. I am surprised it lasted so long too. Anyway the head gasket is in as new nic so I'll re use it and put some Hylarmar on to ensure it seals. Now all but 2 thread holes were stripped...

Hi Guy's, First thanks for the info on the thread size. Now 7/16" is 11.11mm and 20 tpi works out to 1.27mm pitch. So using a thread guage and verniers yes one would think they are UNF. It doesn't surprise me in the least they used M11 which is a non standard thread however, it is an ISO thread. Aft...

Thread Size for EA82 Head Bolts

G'day Guy's, The reason I'm asking the above question as in none of the documentation I have here including a hard copy of the service manual does it state the thread size. When my father in law redid the head gasket on my L series I only just found out the threads were stripped and he heli coiled t...

The main problem with eskies in vehicles is when it is 42C in the shade outdoors car interiors heat up even more. So trying to keep food under 5C is going to take a decent refrigeration source. Power this by your main starting battery and soon you find find the battery is dead and you won't be going...

G'day Guy's, For rusted or stubborn screws nuts ot really anything too tight to remove go grab a can of that 'Loctite Freeze and Release'. In the right places it is less than $10 a can and once you've used it you will see just how good this stuff is. Just be aware that it is flammable so keep open f...

G'day Guy's, There is a brand of the repco sockets and spanners that use the old snapon dies. I bought a set of metric/imperial spanners and 1/4 & 1/2" sockets including deep sockets and allen sockets. They do cost a tad more than the real cheapies but my set is now 10 years old and still like new. ...

A good test to see if the flue is blocked is keep the door of the wood open until you get a decent burn going then shut the door. If the smokes or just goes out real quick then yes there is a blockage in the flue. We run our fire just about everynight in autum/winter and sometimes until early spring...

G'day Cam, The wreckers are called "Bridge Jap and Aussie dismantling" and they are located at 51 Clipsal Road Murray Bridge. G'day Guy's, Well this morning the subi wouldn't start so I had to take the filter cover off and stick a screwdriver in the choke to hold it open so it would start.
