Age-related problems with seals and low kms mainly. Latest problem is coolant leaking out of the water pump and major cold start issues pertaining to (I think) vacuum leaks that are going on in the carby.

Brumby brake pedal response

Hi all, I've done some forum searching and come across people fitting Liberty brake boosters and master cylinders to their Brumby cars to improve braking. I already have rear discs which means that my car no longer locks up the front discs under heavy braking and actually maintains grip with the roa...

That's an old pic, the engine is in pieces at the moment. I'm swimming in twin carbs and manifolds, one of which was fully rebuilt and never put on a car, so maybe we might not have to rebuild those twin carbs. Or maybe the person who's rebuilding my engine won't let me do that...lol.

The reason we made the decision to upgrade the whole brake system was because previously it wasn't close to satisfactory, maybe it is because I am used to driving modified cars that I upgrade the brakes in but our brumby was dangerous in traffic and just in general. This deserves its own topic and ...

I was hoping to have that engine out before it hit 60 000km. I wonder how much a low km EA81 like that would go for these days?

Make sure you DO sort out the issue or you WILL end up with a head gasket issue!! Now that you know you have a problem you can't even trust your temperature gauge - so who knows how much it's overheating at all?
