Yes it is a drip on the timing cover but it's seems to be more of a dried up drip as i it's quite thick and "cluggy" whereas the other stuff near the hex plug is fresh I too thought/hoped it may have been from the hex plug.

Coolant leaking near sump?

I just replace a small leaking hose connecting onto the thermostat and I have now noticed another leak. But this one looks like it's coming out from where the sump bolts onto the engine. One drip every 15 seconds $20 worth of coolant just dripping away:mad: I'll attach a pic Any ideas where this lea...

Why would they use LSD oil?

I was looking through the service records of the 2.0l auto forester I just bought and it says they have used LSD oil, but I didn't think this car had and LSD diff. Any one know why they might have used this? Does it matter?

OK I'm not going to drive it until I get the new timing belt.
If I get the belt done at 130k then I wouldn't need to get it changed until 230k. So... should I get the water pump and belt tensioner's done at this 130k or the next 230k timing belt change?

Got the car and the service history Last service they recommended timing belt change at 130k but 130k service not done yet. Yes manual says 100 000km

Just got one! well I'll have it tomorrow 99 Silver Foz 130k clean looking car drives OK Just overdue for timing belt change, left front indicator cracked and front cv springy rubber cover needs replacing, tyres good for maybe another 6 months.

Ok Thanks I pick up my new Foz tomorrow It hasn't had the belt done and it has 130k on the clock so I guess I'd better get it done real quick.

Hi Guys

I've been looking at a 99 Forester to buy with 130k any idea when the timing belt has to be changed at? I've read 105 000km in aus but 100000 miles in USA
