The suspension is adjustable on the rear, you can raise and lower by adjusting the big nut in the centre of the rear crossmember. you will need to raise the rear of the vehicle when you do it. You may find that everything is tight. A heap of wd40 around the bolt. I run my tyres at 32 psi

Subaru L series - Bash Car

I just re-read my post and a little confusing. It isn' adjustable, just one size fits all really. If I stick my mouth over the inlet hole where the vacume tube connects and suck/blow I can manipulate the level. If yours is stuck, really tight, try lubricating it with some WD40, if it is still tight ...

The auto elecy down he road is just going to run some cleaner, then the R134A gas in the L series. I have installed the complete system from a donor, replaced all the o-rings and installed a re-conditioned compressor and new dryer. To clean, new oil and re-gas is going to be approx $234

when u turn the aircon on, a vacuum operates actuator adjusts the idle on the carby so the revs don't drop and stall the engine. The actuator(if thats what its called) is bolted on the inlet manifold beside the carby.

Check for blown head gaskets....... But at the end of the day, can be fixed.
As mentioned rust around front windscreen. My L series has 500,000km on the clock, body has nil rust, engine is in great condition..... They are bullet proof!

Renting garage in the Blue Mountains - Anyone in?

Howdy, Been toying with the idea of renting out a commercial shed/garage somewhere in the blue mountains region. Will allow storage of heaps of cars, get a hoist to work on cars, beer couchs, no nagging wife/misses to hassle you, yard wont look like a chop shop. Now to make this happen, would really...

Refrigerant R12 was used in car A/C systems from their very beginning, right up until the 90's. It has been shown that R12 damages the environment by depleting the earth's Ozone layer. The major governments around the world (including Australia) have signed protocols promising the reduction and even...

I'm currently installing aircon into my Brumby at the moment. I have so far been to about 20 wrecking yards and its is staggering the difference between aircon systems in MY vehicles. I have 4 condensors, all the connections are in different spots. 5 different mounting brackets for the compressor. 4...

Check that your hand brake cables are adjusted and not stretched. I have just gone thru this and realized the rhs cable had been stretched by accident when I was removing the gearbox. As a result the caliper body was loose and moving around and making noise and whenever I applied the brakes. I was g...

How do you apply the underseal? Do you use a underseal gun or just a standard spray gun with a bigger nozzle? Is there a special mix ratio you use when mixing the underseal and fish oil, or just a bit of that and a splash of that? GREAT WORK!!

What are the sign's and symptoms of these engine related problems? ie Head gasket issues, cv joint issues. 1300Km is a lONG way the drive in a Brumby when there are potential issues which could become and expensive trip on the back on a Flat Bed tow truck.

Most competent mechanics will be able to adjust the tappets on a ea81 motor. They can also check the carb and give you some advise in what direction to go, e.i rebuild kit or just a tune and adjustment
