I was going home on Friday on South Eastern fwy (Monash Fwy) passing Dandenong/Hallam saw this L series 4WD Turbo Sedan on a trailer with Mitsubishi towing it... Does anyone know about this L Series? What was it used for? Know what specs it has? All I could tell it was used for Rally, has Roll Bars ...

or air leaks? Sometimes if you have an air leak it'll idle fast.. or um throttle cable needs adjusting?

60L tank, fuel light is supposed to come on at 8L but the fuel senders inthese cars tend to get out of wack with age.. 10 litres roughly - Lasts around 100 - 120kms depending your driving style.

Once run out of fuel at 620kms at 59.5 litres used but lucky fuel station was down the road and managed to get to the pump!.

it'll be either -

SOHC EJ25 or

Have a look on the engine see what it has, is it DOHC or SOHC 2.5?

isn't there a legal problem with putting in an engine older than the year model of the vehicle? dam sorry spoil.......tho i'm not sure how you tell the year the engine is anyways........ No as long the engine is same "model" such as EA82 1.8 litre then you won't have any problems. About 2 years ago...

If you wanted more power, you could get EJ16,EJ18 EJ20 or EJ22 engines without any problems, maybe talk to Brain at subabits in Clayton and maybe he'll give you pointers, In Ringwood there is an EA82 engine at "Pay n Go" on Heatherdale Road, looks like it has been recently rebuilt as I could tell it...

If you are mechanically minded & have a bit of expeirence on working on engines or a close mate/know someone who knows how to rebuild engines would be a best bet, buy him a slab of beer. All you need is parts for it, I estimate would be below $600 for the parts if you took the engine out and take it...
