I haven't fitted them yet but I also bought some of the flat square hard wired ones so I can see what my 330w solar panels on the Transit are chucking out and what's in my 320ah working batteries at a glance as the regulator is in a cupboard. They seem to top up to 13.1 even though I'm punching 14.7...

If the paint is flakey it'll probably come off with a high pressure cleaner, try it on one, if no good give them a spray with paint stripper first.

As far as the studs go it sounds like a rusty nightmare, get that big pipe and snap them off and replace them, usually a pretty easy job.

Snap up a couple of these, I bought some about 6 months ago and they let you know how you're charging when driving and what's in the battery with just accessories on. You can pick up 5 delivered for less than $15. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/12V-24V-LED-Display-Digital-Auto-Car-Volt-Meter-Monitor-Veh...

LX, GX, RX, AWD, 2WD? What month is it as there was series 1 then series 2 after about September 96.

Might be worth throwing a cap full of brake fluid in the PS pump, it swells the seals and stops small leaks but you'll need to take it for a decent drive to see if it has worked.

Another cheap old trick is to drain your oil and shove 4L of diesel fuel in there (not oil) I did t5his with my off road WRX after it sat for 4yrs and it cleaned out everything, it went from ticking like a bomb to a Swiss watch. Start with the engine cold and let it warm up for about 15min giving it...

If you have an R180 diff (not sure if only WRX have them) my son has an excellent R180 LSD sitting in his shed in Forrestfield you could probably have for $600, he was talked into buying it for his WRX when it was being re-built but is happy with the R160 LSD that's in it, if it's a 160 you should b...

Wow, similar story to mine, I'm 58 this year, my marriage lasted 11yrs, got 2 kids, owned about 60 cars and a few bikes but that's about where it ends, I've only ever let them sleep over and my rule is - yell at me once & I'll ignore it - twice and I'll warn you - three times and it's hit the road s...

Pretty much two lanes dedicated to what looks like non existent pedestrians and cyclists while cars bank up for miles, I'd probably do the same, it's not like there isn't enough room to widen the exit lane and bring it back a couple of hundred meters, the end of Roe Highway where it meets the freewa...

Castrol Edge 15 - 60 fully synthetic and change it every 5,000 - 7,000 KL as your K's are getting a little high.

I would have thought an 03 would be a EJ205 not an EJ20 but nothing to really look for that you wouldn't look for on any other car.

Look on NAISOC for info on the stereo.

Hi George & welcome, you'd really need an Outback set up to run that size tyre without huge rubbing issues.

Thanks Tambox, you are 100% on the money that's pretty much what SubyDoug did today, we put the inverter back on the battery's after he stripped the guts out of the inverter and found one of the screws was put literally fraction of mm's in the wrong position causing a short in the heat soak chassis,...
