My old Brumby had Monroe front and rear when I got it. 5years later I sold it with the same shocks. They held up very well.

Not trying to say you've wasted your time. It's an impressive amount of work. Probably no secret the L series isn't my cup of tea but that's no reason it can't be any others.

With the advent of led light bars the law has changed (at least in SA). You can now have 1 and 3 combination of driving lights as well as 2and 4 combinations.

I check the 'new posts' every three or so weeks. To busy to do anything on my car or read the same old questions over and over again.

Try going from east Melbourne suburbs to Tullamarine during peak hour, even on the toll roads. Heavy traffic in Adelaide seems like a country drive compared.

There is a metal finishers around the corner from where I work that chromes plastics. To get a decent finish you would have to acetone vapour the ABS first.

Reasonable offroad capability, all I need anyhow. Very easy to work on (Brumby). Unique styling (Brumby). Surprises many people. I have a lot of knowledge that would be wasted by going to another brand or newer model.

It depends on your offroad driving style as to if the large tyres are an issue. Personally I'm going with 185/75R14 this time around because I don't like the high gearing even with a 3.9 L box. But like I said, it's a personal preference thing.

You can get the KL71 Kumho's off ebay for $105ea plus shipping which isn't much for 4 ($29 for me).

I abused the hell out of my old Venture M/T's which I believe use the same carcass as the new KL71's. Almost bullet proof tyres.

Cut, add some extra tube and use the Toyota cartridges for 200mm of travel and 2in longer front struts to use with a lift without strut lift blocks.
