I thought they would be the same.

This is the one I am looking at.

Still not sure what the differences are with the part numbers.

Went for extreme measures. Felt the problem roller had "grown" in height rather than swollen on it ID. Sprayed White lithium lube on the roller, pushed a 1" AF socket over the pulley and spun the pulley with a 1/2" driver (cordless impact gun). The heat generated from the friction was enough to warm...

Help with window rollers

Pulled the drivers window out of the MY wagon on the weekend (powdered windows) and there are 3 x rollers in the winding mechanism and 2 x rollers on the window guide. Non of them were actually rolling or had any hope of rolling. I am guessing that since they are round they are supposed to actually ...

Went to take the MY for a drive and noticed tell tale CV grease on the front driver side firewall. Didn't have a new boxed set of boots so pulled new boots of a front drive shaft I had pulled part and refitted new boots to not too long ago. This shaft clicked straight away so it was pulled back out ...

Now I just have to sort out the mess I created with the fitting of the new alternator.
Long story, will document this when time and patience permits.

dfoyl What is this carby off ? I don't see it as looking like mine (1982 EA81) Following is the course of action I have taken with my solenoid which has bought me some time. Firstly, I cleaned up the end of my solenoid to expose as much of the wire as possible. http://ausubaru.com.au/picture.php?alb...

I have done this before too but if for some reason the car wants to run on (lots of reasons for this) you have to basically stall it to make it stop.
I will get to the bottom of this just dont know how yet.

Would you like a photo of the solenoid or the carby ?
Please don't toss the carby yet, is it a manual choke model ?

EA81 Carby (manual choke) anti run on solenoid

The wire on my EA81 carby (Hitachi ?) anti run on solenoid has finally given up and broken off about 3mm from right down inside the solenoid.
I hope to be able to get one more go at soldering the wire back on but this may or may not work.
Any idea on where to get a new one ?

82 Subaru Leone Touringwagon Leather Version

An import I guess.
My 82 Touring wagon doesn't have the headlight washers, electric mirrors, joystick fader for the stereo and the instrument cluster is different (of course no leather either).

In reading these posts I realise I haven't had my wagon out for about 3 weeks so if anything is achieved from reading this is I will get it started and out over the weekend. I t...

Not finding much on the web though and this one while being the right brand is too short. http://www...

Mental blank on plastics makers from the 80's

I am racking my brain to remember the manufacturer of plastics like bonnet and headlight protectors from the 80's. I seem to recall their symbol was 2 black flags back to back sitting at an angle. Anyone remember their name, it wasn't Aunger, trying to recall as I think this was the mob who made the...
