Hey strevdog, were they very expensive? and how much higher are they compared to stock springs?
I already have a lift kit but i don't want too much angle on the cv's.

Did you ever measure your old shaft when compressed and compare it to the new ones? I am fairly sure the model number you provided was the same model number for the shafts on my L series which would surely have to be incorrect for a brumby? I did not have a great interaction with protex brand when i...

I did the front shafts, bearings, ball joints and tierod ends on my lifted L not that long ago.
Not really all that difficult, just a little fiddly.

While the splines worn on the hub sound like a likely suspect, did you happen to measure the length of both the new shafts when compressed?

Cheers for the reply's. Well i have decided if i am going to have a lifted L series i may as well do it well. I want the car to be fun, functional and last at least a few years of checking out this great land of Oz. The suspension is going to have to wait a while cause i went shopping  Now ...

At the moment i have king springs all round and while my current shocks are not shagged i still don't feel the suspension is stiff enough for heavy corrugations or carrying a decent weight. I have the luxury of constantly carrying heavy loads over some of adelaides more bumpy roads, but the nose get...

Sounds like the dampener inside the shock has decided to give up the ghost.
Symptoms sound about right.

Just a couple of questions

G'day forum members. I'm slowly embarking on the EJ route to replace my EA82. I have had my lifted l wagon for a while getting used to it and working out what mods i want to do. It is my daily driver and regularly has varying loads (100kg-400kg) put in the back (there are no back seats). One things ...

Is there a module inside a points dizzy like there is inside an electronic dizzy? Our electronic one on the brumby shit itself not long ago and was displaying similar symptoms. There was another issue with a vac line or valve that displayed similar symptoms but i will wait for an answer on the above...

How long did you allow the fridge to cool down the compartments before stocking it with food?
Are you sure the fluid is coming from the freezer?
Sound like humidity condensing on the plate and welling in the bottom of the fridge.

Any chance one or both you fellas could post some pics or start a thread about this? The rear spring mod was something i was about to have a crack at, but now i am a little dubious after reading the last 2 posts in this thread. My head is a little hazy right now but i take it the bump stops is the r...
