1/ Get some sort of lever under the CV cup, not the flimsy dust cover , the cup, pivot it on one of the side cover bolt heads.
2/ Lean on it.

My ultimate off road gearbox would be a late forester box (lower diff ratios) with l series or scorpion low range 12kg certre and torsion front lsd. That would be my recomendation, changing diff ratio in an early box can be expensive and the Torsen front diff is much nicer on road than the CLSD. I ...

I heard a rumor that Crossbred is testing an Ej Awd box with a centre diff lock?
A part time 4wd box is Fwd on road.
With an Ej turbo that's going to suck so bad i reckon it would be dangerous.

The offset helps with tyre clearance, and Outback alloys look much better than Forresters.

Can you set the data rate in either "device manager" or in your software? I don't know the rate, but was led to belive it's fairly critical? Re the lower control arm bushes, i've used these... http://www.hardrace.com/images/product/pro_200706111928090.jpg The're solid rubber and the're bolt-in so fiting them is a ten minute job. Bought them from http://www.wholesalesuspension.com.au through ebay. Can't see a Liberty listing at the moment...

It's normally the left hand sender in the fuel tank that plays up, i bought one from Skippy at All Things Subaru recently for $20, i think he does fitting too.

It's the same amount of work to put an efi Ej in as it is to put an efi Ea.
The Ej is worth the extra cost.
