Hey all, I need a little direction. My father has just picked up a 90's fwd liberty (car for my youngest brother to learn to drive) for the price it was a steal..... But there is no reverse :confused: It's not self diagnosing (no flashing power light) and nothing displaying through the check engine ...

be careful with that oil on the air filter, the Subaru AFM's doesn't like the oil.

I had a genuine K&N filter and it almost rendered the car un-driveable until I figured it out. ran fine for a while...... then stuttered and ran rich

the rear started making a knocking sound every now and again, i think the shocks are on the way out

and the rear feels sloppy, everything is tight. double checked all bolts tonight, might need bushes?

after driving this for the first time, i wish i had ej turbo'ed something years ago

funny thing is i FINALLY get a L series with a LSD.... and i go sell it
if only i bought a pre immobilised wrx, then i would have converted the rx.

hey all, i have a rx turbo that i started putting the engine back together.... one exhaust stud stripped and it sat like that for a month now. good points; LSD Disk brakes all round interior is in really good condition boost and temp gauge (after market) gearbox shifted fine fresh head gaskets BRAND...

i have been considering a sr20 for my rx, when i get around to it. just not sure about the height of it though, will the hood fit...... dont know :P nissan stuff is dead cheap compaired to subaru. ive wired both engines using standard ecus and the nissan wiring is so simple. it could be done in 10 m...

as normal... it always when you need a tool ,in this case a compressor.

I have for sale a AWD/EJ22 converted vortex. It's been giving me grief fuel pressure related ( thinking fuel tank ). The good it's pretty damn straight for a car of this age. Basically no rust, a little on the removable sun roof. But no where else. Dash is in decent condition, small tear on drivers ...

i have tryed 2 external vl fuel pumps and same result.

can blow through the lines from rear to engine bay, fuel doesnt seem to free flow from the tank with the pump removed? i would have thought it should?

should i try another tank?

Only thing I am thinking is tank pick up?

Has spark and does run (idle), it seems to only die when under load.
Fuel pressure is around 36, however drops to below 10 and stalls when reving.

Wife's on my ass, need a reliable car I think this ones gotta be passed on

well its been a while and a vortex has taken a turn for the worse. i thought my engine had died, so today i replaced it with the one from my liberty. still no good, same problems. with the engine i brought along ignighter/afm and ecu so it was all a matched set, worked fine for months in the liberty...

yeah i though i had read about it befor on usmb as well. there is only the one sensor on a early ej25's cam gears, so the ej22 ecu/wiring should run it if everything match's. i might just need to swap the single cam gear over? if the tooth count is the same. does any one know what fuel pressure the ...
