 shame on you. Good maths is beautiful: e^(i*pi)+1=0.

Jules, there are many ways to do that, and you know they're all wrong.

question for the welding gurus

Who's handy with an arc welder? I'm not. Even on what should be a dead simple weld, I still get little inclusions: http://i337.photobucket.com/albums/n373/dhayden78/2011-11-07_11-55-00_905.jpg The picture of the weld isn't very clear, but there is a little spot of slag trapped in the middle. You can...

185/75R14 because bigger is better. Clearance will be fine.

I'd be leaning away from Bob Jane All rounders, just because I feel better about buying tyres that the tyre manufacturer puts their own name to. Probably not much in it though.

Budget $110 each and you should get some change.

Don't bother with slotteds, especially not on an L. Get a decent brand if you can.

Bendix pads ftw. They work, they last and they don't create heaps of dust.

Easy way would be plug the external speaker connection on your CB into the auxiliary input on your stereo and select that when you want it. Alternatively, some stereos are made to be hooked up to a phone handsfree kit, and when a phone call comes in they either mute the stereo or switch over to play...

A360 is used in most VL-VT Commodores and early EJs. MPFI L Series use A345, which is much less common and more expensive.

An A360 can be made to fit the L airbox with some foam packing.

I think it's just coincidence because whenever the ECU doesn't get the true VSS signal, the ECU goes into limp mode (fans stay on and engines revs slightly higher). You sure of that? My car has never had a VSS, and has never limped. That's on both the Impreza and Lib ECUs. It has thrown an air cont...

I looked at EJ18 heads onto an EJ22 block. IIRC the EJ18 inlet valves were 1-2mm smaller in diameter than the EJ22 ones, exhaust valves were the same, ports looked the same and the chamber volume was suitably smaller on the 18. Probably would have worked, but I didn't have the means to experiment wi...

To make the drivetrain handle EJ power, you need an EJ spec clutch and EJ full time AWD gearbox. Or you can keep all the original EA gear, drive sensibly and you'll be fine. Just go easy on the throttle in the wet.

To answer the title question, yes, passenger tyres will be fine for occasional aired-down use. LTs would just be less likely to suffer damage. That LT designation describes construction of the tyre - number and type of plies and characteristics of the rubber compound. Traction is a function of rubbe...

Hand winches are the go. Cheapish, easily transferable between cars and they can pull you in any direction. A hand winch hanging from a beam makes a pretty good engine hoist too.

My ebay one hasn't broken yet.

Don't have any experience with Toyo, but I can't recommend Coopers. Mine have chipped and worn quickly, and the mileage guarantee doesn't apply outside cities (handy for a "premium" offroad tyre eh?)
