Lifting the car up with the torsion rod will swing the wheel forward in the wheel arch, reducing the distance between the contact patch of the tire and the pivot of the torsion rod on the horizontal plain, so technically it will actually give a stiffer initial spring rate but the effect will probabl...

Easy check wayne, get up to speed. Push clutch in and observe noise. Neutral with clutch in. Neutral with clutch out. Maybe even try 4 or third with clutch depressed while rolling at speed. You can kill the engine while your rolling to get a better ear full, it will also rule out the engine making t...

Niiiiiice Bennie! Great photos, sexy car and some all too familiar places. Shame about the box and rad trouble, though by the sounds of it you had a good time just the same. Bit annoyed I was away, would have been nice to say hi. Are you going to be adding to your GB build thread about what went wro...

We got one of these types for work the other day. Using m6 Stainless rivnuts the thread galled and was basically chooched after about 3. Probably fine for mild steel rivnuts.

Just throwing it out there, the only difference between the 10A and the 15A 240v plug is the Ground terminal size and its only bigger to prevent it from being plugged into a 10A socket. There is no electrical reason for the larger terminal. Now for the wiring in the house and the circuit breaker, wh...

Had three goes in the wagon today, best was around 11 seconds on the phone stopwatch. I dare say if someone who could actually drive properly had a go it could do it in about 10. Bumping the redline up to 6500 instead of 5500 would prolly do the trick. Plenty fast enough for me. Il try it in the vor...

Yeh I've had two fail on me. I did the math and it was cheaper to replace a set of points every time they wear out then replacing those modules so I slapped my old points dizzy back in. I actually pulled mine apart had a look, its the dwell controller/VR to square wave converter circuit thats failin...

Hell yeah Bennie, same goes if your this side of the rock. Pretty sure Ruby's new GB will negate any loss from gearing so It may actually be a close one. Lets just say stock wheels arnt all I got up my sleeve ;). No Drama's WayneO. I just purchased a house so pretty much the poorest man in the world...

dont trust the volt gauges in the clusters too much. Certainly mine has a mind of its own. Took me 3 or 4 times stopping and checking the voltage at the battery before I was convinced though. Often a poor alternator will need a short rev after starting before it kicks in, though if your alternator l...

Best not spilling the beans on a public forum or Il get someone hurt. If said 3rd party reader cant figure it out themselves then probably best they dont try. I actually compressed them on the car that time though, it was the only way I could remove the struts and liftblocks without dropping the LCA...
