Nice work, Also a very simple solution instead of hacking at the lower support, but since the lower mounts are closer to the engine, will fans fit? thanks guyph, Ill be installing my fans in front of the rad along with my waic rad. Ive already pulled my ac condenser and I think ill have to loose my...

Today I finished up my radiator install. I chose a gen 1 lib/legacy turbo rad to keep the ej20g cool. The core is 76 mm taller than the stock rad so I cut the lower support corners and bolted 1/8" steel brackets to the lower support. I had to cut the return of the upper support to stand the rad up p...

There was a time where I was running my '90 mpfi turbo wagon, awd and 4eat 300 miles round trip daily to work, and checking the mpg each morning when filling up I was hitting 29.8 mpg. After a catastrophic water loss incident I picked up the '89 rx to do the same commute and hit the same mpg with th...

"Can't exactly remember !" That is lazy on my part since I learned to do quote boxes :( That's in case Mrs Giles is cruising this site :-) I can just see Tsubaru searching for this bargain as it is somewhere in his territory. Sammy, think I saw an ad in justcars at your local newsagent for about $5...

I think you'll find that "member" is a cross tunnel body brace to add a bit of rigidity to that open part of the floorpan . From memory I had to space mine down a little becase the L AWD gearbox is deeper down the back and wanted to touch it . BTW I'm not real keen on the complete lack of lateral s...

I can see someone else uses a dremel style rotary tool to clean their gearbox :) Notice also the cat converter halfway down the car. My 85 has it directly off the turbo in the dump pipe. Looks like the rearest gearbox mount bolts can be used for EJ box as a brace across the mount holes and that bra...

That little thin mount at the very rear which doesn't actually support anything is just a safety device. If the tailshaft drops off for some reason, that will catch it and prevent it sticking into the ground and possibly flipping the car. At least that's what someone told me once and I guess it mak...

A picture tells a thousand words, but what is the mount in the 89 RX supporting?
Not a thing, its flat across top and doesnt have any hole prep for mounts at all, directly above it the shifter linkage attaches to the trans.

I was thinking that as Mark has a few years on me, my advice may be headed, or at least considered. Think we are both hoons at heart :-P .
