heaps of room. little tap with a hammer would double the room.
clearances are not symetrical left to right because the heads are staggered.

here is mine for sale, make offer with or without HID. though without HID there is a couple of discrete (1 each light) wiring holes that will need grommets, or your bulb weather seal caps swapped in.

use nut splitter. or cut them off with cold chisel. cold chisel is pretty quick.

sounds like a gasket to me. put the rad cap only part way on. no pressure will build up to blow water out. works if you dont have far to go.

my little proton ute did this and the boarders lancer as well. seemed to be the hazard switch as the power for the indicaters travels through the hazard switch first. the contacts were cooked

no point changing oil as you may have to drop it anyway.
could try swapping spark plug with another one to eliminate that as well.
yes, get a super cheap tester and check compression, if you get one that can screqw in then you can do it yourself

surely they wire into the door courtesy lights and come on the same as the interior lights. maybe even fade out after delay. cool

i guess they the same, i know the DOHC ones from beginning to bout 2000 are same. they are longer and they have 5 lines on them two sets of 2 lines about 150mm apart (for the right and left banks of 2 pulleys and between them a line for the crank. DOHC ones are hars to get in aus for less than $100,...

mr muscle oven cleaner. check the labels and get the stuff with the most caustic in it. dissolves oil and grease and makes aluminium stuff real clean. dont leave it on for too long tho.
scrub the caustic with the mrs toothbrush
