Got a kit just like that in the car, but mine came from a 4wd shop so cost a fair bit more than $39 :(. Seems to be pretty good quality, and they are very handy - quicker and easier than jacking up and changing a tyre.

As others have said, don't expect the plugs to be a permanent repair.

I reckon those plugs might be for the relays tucked up somewhere above the fuse panel. The relays (four on my car, maybe only three on yours) are all the same, so just plug any one of your mystery connectors into each of them. http://ausubaru.com.au/attachment.php?attachmentid=3099&stc=1&d=132671320...

Basically they are similar looking the Red fuse off the Liberty in the black box. Unfortunately you can't use the Liberty ones. All i've got to do now is to know what amp are the green and black/grey fuse-able links are so i can match them and go and buy some. Anyone know what amps the links are on...

I just bought a set of tyre deflators similar to the Staun brand: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/220879431...84.m1439.l2649 Seem good enough but as with them all only go up to 30PSI http://www.offroadsubarus.com/images/smilies/icon_neutral.gif Then today I found these: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/290654...

Congrats Jules.

45 degrees sounds about right on site, and about 70% humidity. Still, you could do much worse.

Wanna tell us what you'll be constructing?

So in that diagram you've disconnected the primary thermo fan from its original wiring and plugged it into a new relay instead, right? And the second fan is still switched by the temp switch or air con switch as standard? Sounds good to me.

*edit - assuming MY fans are earth switched

First off, forget all about ARB. If you don't have a new Cruiser or Patrol and a gold MasterCard, they don't want to know you. Next, get out there (preferably with some friends or a club) and see what your car can do and where it's lacking. Then you can set your priorities. These are mine: Step 1: G...

So what you need is a new exhaust without paying for it. A muffler is a muffler and pipe is pipe, if you're a half inventive lad they don't need to be the exact right parts for an MY wagon. Go to your friendly local exhaust shop and ask for a quote on a fully sik new exhaust. On your way out ask if ...

What if you get a EJ22 long motor and bolt it back to your EJ20 manifold etc in the car? Like i did with fitting the ej16 long block in the ej18 Impreza. Like you guys said it works fine. And Ej22 are really cheap. you could get away with about $300-500 if you do it your self. This of cause if this...

^ What Bennie said. SHould have mentioned that in my first reply.

I've resoldered mine once or twice before, but it keeps overheating that resistor. If you're keen maybe try two x 1500 ohm 2W resistors in parallel or get a little bit fancy with heatsinks. Or get a watch ;)

My 1/1993 build L Series has a little silver label on the passenger side strut tower. Most of the text has rubbed off, but I think it says 231. But I tend to use whatever shade of white is cheapest, and it doesn't make the car look any worse

The colour bands on mine are burnt, but the multimeter says it's 75 ohms.

Each of the components also has a label printed on the PCB. That resistor is R750, which seems to mean 75x10^0. The other, undamaged, resistors on the board have similar labels corresponding to their measured values.

question for the welding gurus

Who's handy with an arc welder? I'm not. Even on what should be a dead simple weld, I still get little inclusions: http://i337.photobucket.com/albums/n373/dhayden78/2011-11-07_11-55-00_905.jpg The picture of the weld isn't very clear, but there is a little spot of slag trapped in the middle. You can...

185/75R14 because bigger is better. Clearance will be fine.

I'd be leaning away from Bob Jane All rounders, just because I feel better about buying tyres that the tyre manufacturer puts their own name to. Probably not much in it though.

Budget $110 each and you should get some change.

Don't bother with slotteds, especially not on an L. Get a decent brand if you can.

Bendix pads ftw. They work, they last and they don't create heaps of dust.
