it is cheating the old school way is much more fun just isnt as quick as the computer way the machine takes 20mins tops have to ask how did this go from speeding ticket to machining ?

Haha it's all in mm now, the only Imperial stuff at work is a massive ancient old English radial arm drill and a few Micrometers in the back of the cupboard, behind all the metric micrometers :rolleyes: So 1 thou is .02mm, does two tenths = .01mm? At the moment I grind my blocks to within +/- .005m...

even weekly is fine they were oily as i rubbed before anything else went into the bores the exhaust prts were a tad oily as well and i have lots of foam.... found it in the bin at work along with 4M of double core wiring and a heap of mesh

it looks like it should be there but there isnt a matching one on the other side or in the matching head it also leads to somewhere with coolant as i could dry it out and everytime i blew through it seemed to let air out eith the stud hole or water jacket next to it

Adjusted my timing today on the L series, first time using one but went fine ... Except noticed the light did not flash every time...probably once every few seconds it wouldnt flash. Wondering if this means I might not be getting a spark consistently or if its down to the timing light? All appeared...

the weld looks like its glued on:) To be frank, a 100A arc welder is just useless for any but the smallest of the smallest jobs. You need 180A and more to start doing decent welding with arc. However with a MIG, a 130A welder works good for 3mm+ mild steel - the shielding gas makes all the differen...

another reason is cheap and nasty coolant can destroy head gaskets
